  1. 1. Effect of temperature on early stage adhesion during TiAlN sliding against Inconel 718 and Stainless steel 316L : High temperature tribology

    University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för teknikvetenskap och matematik

    Author : Ahsan Ali; [2023]
    Keywords : High temperature tribology; Early-stage adhesion; Adhesive wear; Friction; Wear resistant coatings; Physical vapour deposition PVD coatings; TiAlN; Tungsten carbide WC Co ; Difficult to machine super alloys; Inconel 718; Stainless steel 316L; High-performance materials; Abrasion; Oxidation; Chipping; Ploughing; Characterization;

    Abstract : High-performance materials such as stainless steels and nickel based super alloys are widely used in demanding applications where high mechanical and thermal properties are required. The applications of super alloys are mainly found in jet engines, power plants and gas turbines demanding high fatigue strength, corrosion and oxidation resistance as well as wear resistant properties. 2. 2. Rock cavern as thermal energy storage

    University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Energivetenskap

    Author : Simon Berglund; [2020]
    Keywords : Rock cavern; Waste heat; District heating; Intermittent operation; Sustainability; Heat storage; Carbon dioxide reduction; Bergrum; Spillvärme; Fjärrvärme; Intermittent drift; Hållbarhet; Värmelagring; Koldioxid reducering;

    Abstract : In the fall of 2019, a comprehensive idea study was conducted on heat storage in two rock caverns located at Näsudden in Skelleftehamn and was part of the project course "Energiteknik, huvudkurs" at Luleå University of Technology. This idea study investigated the conditions of using waste heat from Boliden AB:s copper smeltery (Rönnskär) and storing this waste heat in two rock caverns and use them as seasonal thermal storage tanks, with the purpose of using the heat in the nearby district heating network, thus replacing some of the oil burned at Rönnskär. 3. 3. Investigation of heat transfer and mass transfer parameters in a convection oven for model foods

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Livsmedelsteknik och nutrition (master)

    Author : Chandana Mysore Somashekar; [2020]
    Keywords : Food engineering; Livsmedelsteknik; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : Forced air convection systems are the most preferred design of choice in many of the industrial-scale convection ovens. In this study, experimental investigation on convective heat transfer and mass transfer within a forced air convection oven was performed at different oven temperatures (100℃, 110℃ and 120℃) and at flow velocity (2 m/s, 3 m/s and 4 m/s) using potato slices (10*10*60 mm) as model food. 4. 4. Full Cycle Cylinder State Estimation in DI Engines with VVA

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Fordonssystem

    Author : Linus Johansson; [2019]
    Keywords : VVT; Combustion engine; Thermodynamics; CRB;

    Abstract : Tougher legal demands on pollutions require a better developed understanding of the processes that take place in the cylinder. The thesis contributes with a cylinder model that uses the same set of equations for intake, compression,expansion/combustion and exhaust. READ MORE

  5. 5. Performance Testing of a MobileThermal Energy Storage System

    University essay from KTH/Energiteknik

    Author : Marion Maurel; [2017]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : I Europa utgör industrisektorn 31% av den globala efterfrågan på energi och bland detta går 20 till 50% avden totala energiinmatningen förlorad när värme släpps ut i atmosfären. Samtidigt beskriver the”European Commission Energy Roadmap 2050” vilken viktig roll energilagring i processen för utfasningav fossila bränslen i det europeiska energisystemet har. READ MORE
