  1. 1. Characterization of Heat Treated LMwD Ti-6Al-4V to Study the Effect of Cooling Rate on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties

    University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för teknikvetenskap och matematik

    Author : Emil Edin; [2019]
    Keywords : Ti-6Al-4V; LMwD; Characterization; Alpha Laths;

    Abstract : In this work, the influence of different cooling rates (5, 20, 50 and 100 °C/s) on the microstructure and mechanical properties of Laser Metal Wire Deposited (LMwD) Ti-6Al-4V was investigated, this was done using a thermal-mechanical physical simulation system (Gleeble 3800, DSI). Two different soak times above β transus (held at 1100 °C), 5 and 40 s, were used and after cooling to 150 °C, the samples were tensile tested. READ MORE

  2. 2. Influence of nitrocarburization on the thermomechanical fatigue properties of ductile iron for exhaust components : Analysis and comparisons of TMF-properties

    University essay from Karlstads universitet/Fakulteten för hälsa, natur- och teknikvetenskap (from 2013)

    Author : Karl Larsson; [2019]
    Keywords : Thermo-mechanical fatigue; low cycle fatigue; thermal strain; ductile cast iron; nitrocarburizing;

    Abstract : New stricter environmental legislation requires lower emissions and fuel consumption of automotive engines. Therefore the fuel efficiency must be increased but this leads to higher loads in the engine. As for the exhaust system it is affected by higher thermomechanical loads. READ MORE

  3. 3. The Impact of Nutrition on the Frail Elderly - A Literature Study

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för folkhälso- och vårdvetenskap; Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för folkhälso- och vårdvetenskap

    Author : Eleanor Romell; Kevin Broxe; [2019]
    Keywords : frailty; prevention; nutrition; protein; intervention; nutritional status; skörhet; prevention; nutrition; protein; intervention; nutritionsstatus;

    Abstract : ABSTRACT Background: The population of elderly people is an expanding group with an average life expectancy far exceeding that of only several decades ago. This increased number of older adults is a direct result of improved medical improvements, but it has also created a group vulnerable to the decline of bodily functions, diminished physical strength and poor quality of life. 4. 4. Basic Creep of Young Concrete - Sensitivity in the Evaluation Method

    University essay from KTH/Betongbyggnad; KTH/Betongbyggnad

    Author : Benar Ekmat; Natalea Hermes; [2019]
    Keywords : thermal cracking; young concrete; creep; Linear Logarithmic Model; temperature development; average strain; sensitivity.; Temperatursprickor; ung betong; krypning; Linjär Logaritmisk Modell; temperaturutveckling; töjning; känslighet.;

    Abstract : Creep is defined as deformation that takes place under constant load after an initial elastic response. This thesis focuses on a material property problem area that concerns stress analysis. Focus is on stress development considering creep deformations occurring when a concrete structure is under load, i.e. READ MORE

  5. 5. Field damage investigation and evaluation of numerical model using the collected data at Kemi Mine

    University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för samhällsbyggnad och naturresurser

    Author : Heidi Rikberg; [2019]
    Keywords : Rock mechanics; field damage investigation; damage mapping; evaluation; numerical model; mining;

    Abstract : This Master´s Thesis studies the applicability of existing numerical model to predict the conditions in the drifts at the mine. Damage mapping, covering the existing production levels, has been carried out to study the condition of the surface support, i.e. READ MORE
