  1. 16. The effect of recycling and processing routes on recrystallization in a secondary 3xxx aluminium alloy

    University essay from Jönköping University/JTH, Material och tillverkning

    Author : Anton Rolseth; [2023]
    Keywords : Aluminium alloys; sheet metal forming; grain boundary segregation; recrystallization; Zener pinning; casting; rolling;

    Abstract : Aluminium alloys have the possibility to be infinitely recycled. By only generating 5% of the emissions compared to primary aluminium, great CO2 savings can be made. One of the issues in manufacturing components entirely from post-consumer scrap is the presence of trace elements and impurities. Such elements can be Fe, Cu, Cr, P and Pb. READ MORE

  2. 17. Interaction for flexural column buckling : Analytical procedures compared with FE-simulations

    University essay from KTH/Bro- och stålbyggnad

    Author : Noah Norberg; [2023]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : This master's thesis presents a study on the stability of steel structures under flexural bucklingconstraints. The study focuses on the interaction and behaviour of flexural buckling formulas in SSEN-1993-1-1 and Swedish BSK and the performance of actual structural members subjected to suchconstraints. 3. 18. MANGO - Generating 2D-Magnetic Field Maps From Normal-Conducting Magnets Of Experimental Areas

    University essay from KTH/Fysik

    Author : Ambre Visive; [2023]
    Keywords : Applied Physics; Particle Physics; MANGO; Magnetic Field Maps; Normal-Conducting Magnets; Finite-Element Modelling; Opera-2D; Git Repository; Python Package; Beam Lines; Experimental Areas; CERN; Tillämpad Fysik; Partikelfysik; MANGO; Magnetfältskartor; Normalkonduktiva Elektromagneter; Finit Elementmodellering; Opera-2D; Git Repository; Python Package; Partikelstrållinje; Experimentområden; CERN;

    Abstract : This thesis discusses the development of MANGO, a tool created to model normal-conducting magnets which were installed in the 1970s in the experimental areas at CERN, and store their analysis. MANGO formulates an answer to two problems faced by the physicists of the Beam Department when they model a beam line: first, how to produce new magnetic field maps and, second, how to easily access existing ones? It contains a multi-use package that offers an automated process to produce magnetic field maps from finite-element models of magnets. READ MORE

  4. 19. Feasibility Study on Additive Manufacturing of Copper Windings using Electron Beam Melting

    University essay from KTH/Produktionsutveckling

    Author : Marilena Wiele; Murad Abulawi; [2023]
    Keywords : Electron beam melting; Additive manufacturing; Electric motor windings; Hairpin windings; Winding design; Copper; Parameter optimization; Electrical conductivity; Elektronstrålesmältning; Additiv tillverkning; Elmotorlindningar; Hårnålslindningar; Lindningsdesign; Koppar; Parameteroptimering; Elektrisk ledningsförmåga;

    Abstract : Within the framework of this thesis, the electron beam melting of pure copper for the purpose of producing electrical windings was examined. The conventional manufacturing process of copper windings was investigated, and the potential advantages offered by the design freedom inherent in the electron beam melting process were explored.
