  1. 1. Building and Evaluating a Full Disk Encrypted Secure Multi-user Operating Platform in Linux

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Peter Boström; [2021]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Security is more important than ever, and since we are storing much of our sensitive data on hard drives, the demand for security systems is high. Full disk encrypted systems where multiple users can decrypt the same hard drive using the same secret but with different credentials are not common and is something that the military and various companies demand. 2. 2. Design and Implementation of Multi-core Support for an Embedded Real-time Operating System for Space Applications

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för informations- och kommunikationsteknik (ICT)

    Author : Wei Zhang; [2015]
    Keywords : real-time operating system; multi-core architecture; embedded system;

    Abstract : Nowadays, multi-core processors are widely used in embedded applications due to the advantages of higher performance and lower power consumption. However, the complexity of multi-core architectures makes it a considerably challenging task to extend a single-core version of a real-time operating system to support multi-core platform. READ MORE

  3. 3. Controlling the Bootstrap Process : Firmware Alternatives for an x86 Embedded Platform

    University essay from Institutionen för informationsteknologi

    Author : Svante Ekholm Lindahl; [2011]
    Keywords : x86; firmware; BIOS; boot loader;

    Abstract : The viability of firmware engineering on a lower-tier computer manufacturer (OEM) level, where the OEM receives processor and chipset components second hand, was investigated. It was believed that safer and more reliable operation of an embedded system would be achieved if system startup times were minimised. READ MORE

  4. 4. Design of an FPGA Based JTAG Recorder for use in Production of IPTV Set-Top Boxes

    University essay from Datorteknik

    Author : Robert Andreasson; [2009]
    Keywords : JTAG; FPGA; Set-Top Box; DDR SDRAM; UART;

    Abstract : This thesis evaluates the possibility to replace the manufacturer dependent JTAG device used in the production tests of IPTV set-top boxes for storing the boot loader in the main memory in order to start the box for the first time. An FPGA based prototype was built in order to see if it is possible to record the JTAG signals, to an external DDR SDRAM, without understanding them and be able to perform a delayed playback resulting in the same bahavoir as with the original JTAG device.
