  1. 1. Integration of Borehole, Ground, and Airborne Data to Improve Identification of Areas With Quick Clays in Sweden

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Geofysik

    Author : Oskar Rydman; [2021]
    Keywords : TEM; tTEM; Quick clay; SkyTEM; ATEM; CPTR; CPTU-R; Landslides; Frastad; TEM; tTEM; Quick clay; SkyTEM; ATEM; CPTR; CPTU-R; Jordskred; Fråstad;

    Abstract : The main focus of the project was the comparison of results from a new towed transientelectromagnetic (tTEM) data set with existing data including airborne transient EM(ATEM), radio magnetotellurics (RMT), cone penetration test with resistivity (CPT-R),geotechnical interpretations and geological observations in a quick clay landslide site atFråstad close to Lilla Edet in south-west Sweden. The tTEM data set was processedand inverted twice in the software Aarhus workbench using different inversion constraintsand settings. READ MORE

  2. 2. A practical assessment of frequency electromagnetic inversion in a near surface geological environment

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Author : Mattias Letellier; [2012]
    Keywords : frequency; electromagnetic; sounding; inversion; GEM-2 frekvens; elektromagnetiska; sondering; GEM-2; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : Under de senaste 15 åren har användningen av frekvenselektromagnetiska sonderingsinstrument inom geofysiska undersökningar drivit forskningen framåt för att förbättra den använda metoden. En av dessa tekniker är inversion vilket är den process som omvandlar elektromagnetiska data till djupvärden för geologiska lager. READ MORE

  3. 3. Evaluation of wire-line well logs from the borehole Kyrkheddinge-4 by comparison to measured core data

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Author : Óluva Ellingsgaard; [2007]
    Keywords : porosity; permeability; well logs; wire-line; Kyrkheddinge; Lund Member; borrhålsloggar; porositet; permeabilitet; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : This study is an evaluation of formation characteristics, as derived from wire-line well logs, of the Lund Member in the borehole Kyrkheddinge-4, 3 km east of Staffanstorp, Skåne, Sweden, through the comparison to measured core data. The purpose is to assess the feasibility of using some of the porosity and permeability equations and cross-plots derived for the investigated section and applying them to deeper aquifer formations in Kyrkheddinge- 4, where no core data exist.
