  1. 1. Groundwater denitrification by fluidized bioelectrochemical systems

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för kemi, bioteknologi och hälsa (CBH)

    Author : Lena Bonin; [2020]
    Keywords : Bioelectrochemistry; fluidized bed reactor; bioremediation; denitrification; groundwater; reduced graphene oxide;

    Abstract : Groundwater (GW) accounting for most of the freshwater available around the World, finding sustainable techniques to depollute it is of crucial importance for safe drinking water supply. The extensive use of fertilizers in the agriculture, as well as other anthropogenic activities, are contributing to the excessive nitrate levels in some aquifers. READ MORE

  2. 2. Corrosion initiation induced by sodium sulfate and sodium chloride particles on Cu and the golden alloy Cu5Al5Zn at simulated atmospheric conditions

    University essay from KTH/Materialvetenskap

    Author : Weijie Zhao; [2017]
    Keywords : atmospheric corrosion; sodium sulfate; sodium chloride; Cu5Al5Zn; Cu metal; mixed salt pre-deposition; laboratory exposure; LOM; SEM EDS; ATR-FTIR; cathodic reduction;

    Abstract : Effects of sodium sulfate (Na2SO4) particle deposition on the atmospheric corrosion of copper (Cu) metal and a Cu-based alloy (Cu5Al5Zn) used in architectural applications were investigated at laboratory conditions compared with effects induced by sodium chloride (NaCl) and to some extent ammonium sulfate (NH4)2SO4 induced corrosion. Pre-deposited surfaces were exposed to repeated wet/dry conditions in a climatic chamber and the formation of corrosion products were assessed using light optical microscopy (LOM), scanning electron microscopy with elemental analysis (SEM/EDS), Fourier transform infrared techniques (FTIR microscopy) and cathodic reduction (CR). 3. 3. Hydrogen-assisted stress corrosion cracking of high strength steel

    University essay from KTH/Materialvetenskap

    Author : Rohollah Ghasemi; [2011]
    Keywords : Hydrogen assisted stress corrosion cracking; Hydrogen embrittlement; High strength steel; Slow Strain Rate Test;

    Abstract : In this work, Slow Strain Rate Test (SSRT) testing, Light Optical Microscopy (LOM) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) were used to study the effect of microstructure, corrosive environments and cathodic polarisation on stress corrosion cracking (SCC) of two grades of high strength steels, Type A and Type B. Type A is manufactured by quench and tempered (Q&T) method. READ MORE

  4. 4. Hydrogen-assisted stress corrosion cracking of high strength steel
