  1. 1. Investigation of Adsorption and Retention of Charged Compounds In RPLC

    University essay from Karlstads universitet/Institutionen för ingenjörs- och kemivetenskaper (from 2013)

    Author : Emma Fryxelius; [2022]
    Keywords : adsorption; adsorption isotherm; charged compounds; promethazine hydrochloride; propranolol hydrochloride; mixed-mode; retention; RPLC;

    Abstract : The adsorption isotherm of two weak bases, Promethazine hydrochloride and Propranolol hydrochloride, were determined with isocratic reversed-phase liquid chromatography, with a 60 w% methanol in 20 mM sodium acetate buffer pH 4 as the mobile phase, and calculated by the elution by characteristic points method. The data obtained from the method were then fitted into the Langmuir isotherm and the electrostatically modified Langmuir. READ MORE

  2. 2. Fabrication and Characterisation of iontronic micropipette

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Laboratoriet för organisk elektronik; Linköpings universitet/Tekniska fakulteten

    Author : Henrik Hamrefors; [2022]
    Keywords : Iontronic drug delivery; Iontronic micropipette; Ion exchange membrane; AMPSA; A-HPG; Fabrication; Characterisation; Teknisk biologi; Teknisk biologi;

    Abstract : The biological translation between biological and electrical signals have inspired scientists over the last decade and has opened new way of therapeutics. The group of Bioelectronics at the Laboratory of organic electronics (LOE) develops systems that utilizes this translation to reduce the gap between electronics and biology. READ MORE

  3. 3. Polymerization of isatin towards polymers for anion exchange membranes and gas separation applications

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Kemiska institutionen

    Author : Simone Facchini; [2022]
    Keywords : organic chemistry; membranes; isatin; polymers; Chemistry;

    Abstract : In a world where the problem of energy resources, pollution and all aspects related to these issues becomes more and more dominant, a greater commitment is needed in the search for solutions. The goal of this project is to make a contribution to the research and development of new materials to reduce the environmental impact in some fields. READ MORE

  4. 4. GAC filter Design Criteria for Wastewater Treatment for Removal of Organic Micropollutants – A Literature Review

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Kemiteknik (CI)

    Author : Bhargav Reddy Elavarthi; [2021]
    Keywords : micropollutants; activated carbon filtration; empty bed contact time EBCT ; pharmaceuticals; breakthrough curves; adsorption; PFOS; carbon use; water and environmental engineering; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) is nowadays suggested as a fourth (quaternary) treatment step at municipal wastewater treatment plants to remove certain chemicals and particularly organic micropollutants (OMPs). This work investigated the different factors that affect the performance of the GAC filter for the removal of micropollutants in a municipal wastewater treatment plant. READ MORE

  5. 5. Bindning av PFAS-ämnen till humus- och fulvosyror : en dialysstudie

    University essay from SLU/Dept. of Soil and Environment

    Author : Johannes Kikuchi; [2020]
    Keywords : PFOS; PFOA; sorption; kinetics; dissolved organic matter; natural organic matter; DOC; DOM; membrane;

    Abstract : To make more accurate predictions of the mobility of perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in soil and water, better understanding of PFAS sorption to components of the terrestrial and aquatic systems is needed. This study investigated the possible sorption of a range of PFAS compounds with varying chemistries to humic acid (HA) and fulvic acid (FA) using a dialysis bag experimental set-up. READ MORE
