1. Non-perturbative models of diffractive hadronic collisions
University essay from Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisationAbstract : In this thesis, a new model for diffractive proton-proton collisions is presented. Interpreting protons as systems of many partons, we treat diffraction in terms of elastic interactions between the partons of the colliding protons. READ MORE

2. Geometry studies of high energy 16O collisions
University essay from Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisationAbstract : In this project a model of oxygen, 16O, nuclei, where the nucleons are organised in α-clusters, was implemented in the Pythia Monte Carlo event generator. To study the effects of the new model, some observables, such as the distribution of the number of the wounded nucleons, charged particle multiplicity in the forward and central pseudorapidity region, and the pseudorapidity distribution for different centrality bins and eccentricity, are compared to the model originally implemented in Pythia (Woods-Saxon). 3. Multiplicity and Classification of Final State Particles in Herwig7
University essay from Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisationAbstract : In this work we investigate the hard and soft interactions in the multiple parton interactions (MPI) simulation in Herwig7. The investigation covers how the number of soft and hard interactions in an event is linked to the multiplicity of final state particles. READ MORE

4. Ω- Yields in pp Events at √s = 13 TeV Using the ALICE Detector
University essay from Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenAbstract : Ω- is a baryon which is rarely produced in proton collisions. The theoretical models for how these Ω- appear are yet not fully developed. Previous studies have shown that the experimental data did not agree with the models since more Ω- particles appeared in the proton collisions than expected. READ MORE

5. Xi Production in pp Collisions at Different Multiplicity and Spherocity
University essay from Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenAbstract : The protons and neutrons that make up the atoms in our Universe are part of a larger group of particles called hadrons. Hadrons have an inner structure consisting of the elementary particles called quarks. The interaction of the quarks is described by the quantum field theory quantum chromodynamics. READ MORE
