  1. 11. Fitting the pion and kaon mass and decay constant to lattice data

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisation

    Author : Hector Tiblom; [2021]
    Keywords : chiral perturbation theory; lattice QCD; pion mass; kaon mass; decay constant; low-energy QCD; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : We use lattice QCD data to perform a fit of the pion and kaon mass and decay constant to next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) in three-flavor Chiral Perturbation Theory (ChPT). To improve our fits, we make use of finite volume corrections at both one- and two-loop order. This turns out to provide a small but noticeable improvement of our fits. READ MORE

  2. 12. On the (1/2,1/2) Representation of the Lorentz Group and the Discrete CPT Symmetries

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisation

    Author : Nikolaj Skog Pirinen; [2021]
    Keywords : The Lorentz Group; Group Theory; Quantum Field Theory; CPT; Symmetry; Spinors; Representation Theory; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : This thesis derives the explicit form of the elements of the (1/2,1/2) representation of the Lorentz group, by actually performing a direct product of the chiral (1/2,0)- and (0,1/2)-representations. The Lorentz transformations of fourvectors are thereafter recovered from this direct-product representation, allowing the derivation of a transformation matrix between the fourvector- and direct product basis. 3. 13. Exploring the quark correlator of an axial-vector with two vector currents

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Kärnfysik

    Author : Di An; [2021]
    Keywords : muon g-2; quark correlator; axial-vector meson; non-perturbative QCD; chiral perturbation theory; resonance chiral theory.;

  4. 14. Reducing the dynamical diffraction effects in EMCD by electron beam precession

    University essay from

    Author : Arvid Forsberg; [2020]
    Keywords : electron microscope; TEM; transmission electron microscope; EMCD; electron energy-loss magnetic chiral dichroism; magnetism; precession electron diffraction; crystals; crystallography;

    Abstract : Dynamical effects are known to reduce the signal to noise ratio in EMCD measurements making them highly dependent on sample thickness. Precession of the electron beam has been shown to reduce these effects in ordinary crystallography. READ MORE

  5. 15. Aqueous self-assembly behaviour alteration derived from primary structure changes of model peptides

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Kemiska institutionen

    Author : Marcus Bäcklund; [2020]
    Keywords : Model peptides; self-assembly; SAXS; FTIR; CD; physical chemistry; fysikalisk kemi; Chemistry;

    Abstract : Understanding of the self-assembly behaviour of peptides is of great interest within several different areas such as neurodegenerative diseases, biotechnology, and peptide pharmaceuticals. In this work we have compared the impact on the self-assembly behaviour derived from systematic changes of the primary structure of A8K, where A denotes alanine and K lysine. READ MORE
