  1. 6. Visibility in Smoke With Different Extinction Coefficients

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Brandteknik

    Author : Lea Elhokayem; [2022]
    Keywords : Visibility; smoke; exit sign; extinction coefficient; visibility constant; evacuation; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : Visibility in smoke has since the 1970s gained some attention, mostly after Tadahisa Jin ran the experiments which helped him develop todays widely used visibility equation. By showing that visibility can be assumed to be inversely proportional to the extinction coefficient by a visibility constant (equal to 8 for light emitting sign and 3 for light reflecting), Jin opened up new doors for researchers who were testing out his theory by going around experimenting in different ways and also by showing that there is way for more research to be done. 2. 7. Towards a Data-Driven Approach to Ground-Fault Location in Distribution Power System using Artificial Neural Network

    University essay from Linnéuniversitetet/Institutionen för fysik och elektroteknik (IFE)

    Author : Antoine Dupuis; [2021]
    Keywords : Ground-Fault Location; Distribution power System; Artificial Neural Network; Machine Learning; Distributed Generation; Wavelet Transform;

    Abstract : Motivated by the need for less polluting energy production, the recent increase in renewable electricity production is reshaping classical power systems. Initially unidirectional and constant power flow becomes multi-directional and dynamic. As one of the many consequences, classical power system fault location methods might become outdated. 3. 8. A small sample study of some sandwich estimators to handle heteroscedasticity

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Statistiska institutionen

    Author : Viking Westman; [2021]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : This simulation study sets out to investigate Heteroscedasticity-Consistent Covariance Matrix Estimation using the sandwich method in relatively small sample sizes. The different estimators are evaluated on how accurately they assign confidence intervals around a fixed, true coefficient, in the presence of random sampling and both homo- and heteroscedasticity. 4. 9. Investigation of vitamin K interaction and transdermal delivery at skin barriers:study using k4 model

    University essay from Malmö universitet/Institutionen för biomedicinsk vetenskap (BMV)

    Author : Alberta Agyemang; [2021]
    Keywords : vitamin k4; diffusion coefficient; Michaelis-Menten constant;

    Abstract : Vitamin K is a fat soluble compound which is synthesized by the gut microbiota and produced in many tissues within the body. Considering its role in the liver as a cofactor for gamma carboxylase enzymes, treatment of dark circles and pigments under the eye among others. READ MORE

  5. 10. Implementation of adaptive filtering algorithms for noise cancellation

    University essay from Högskolan i Gävle/Avdelningen för elektroteknik, matematik och naturvetenskap

    Author : Tanja Lampl; [2020]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : This paper deals with the implementation and performance evaluation of adaptive filtering algorithms for noise cancellation without reference signal. Noise cancellation is a technique of estimating a desired signal from a noise-corrupted observation. READ MORE
