  1. 1. Spatial Assessment of Soil Contamination through GIS Data Management

    University essay from KTH/Hållbarhet och miljöteknik

    Author : Ingrid Sjödell; [2018]
    Keywords : Arsenic; ArcMap; Soil Sensitivity; Data Handling; Geophysical Measurements;

    Abstract : Spatial data management within the environmental field has a large range of application possibilities and comes with great advantages. In this study methods and technologies for spatial data management of soil contamination has been assessed in Geographical Information Systems (GIS), in order to identify in which way spatial data applications and tools can contribute with valuable information for these type of projects. 2. 2. The Ability of Regional Climate Models to Simulate Weather Conditions on Nordenskiöldbreen, Svalbard

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Luft-, vatten och landskapslära; Uppsala universitet/Luft-, vatten och landskapslära

    Author : Malin Andersson; Erica Erikson; [2018]
    Keywords : Regional climate models; automatic weather station; glacier; Svalbard; Regionala klimatmodeller; automatisk väderstation; glaciär; Svalbard;

    Abstract : In this project, we analyse the ability of two regional climate models to simulate meteorological conditions on Nordenskiöldbreen, a glacier in Svalbard. To do so, regional climate model output is compared with in situ measurements from an automatic weather station. READ MORE

  3. 3. Dimensionering av Jumkils nya skolas energisystem : implementering av bergvärmepump, solcellsanläggning och batterilager

    University essay from SLU/Dept. of Energy and Technology

    Author : Frida Andersson; Johanna Carlsson; Linnéa Hane; Jesper Larsson; Josephine Lindén Magnusson; Hanna Olofsson; Richard Robertsson; Pontus Roos; Jessica Wänlund; [2018]
    Keywords : energikartläggning; miljöcertifiering; flödesbatteri; varvtalsstyrd värmepump; PVsyst; solcellsanläggning;

    Abstract : The purpose of this study is to develop a modern and energy efficient system solution for a school in Jumkil, combining solar power, battery storage and geothermal heat pump system. By using models, simulations and available literature the study examines the dimensions of the included components for optimal coverage of the schools energy demand. READ MORE

  4. 4. Intercoat adhesion : How can intercoat adhesion be studied and what influences intercoat adhesion

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för kemi, bioteknologi och hälsa (CBH)

    Author : Amanda Kessler; [2018]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Coatings cover most objects in our daily lives. They can have functional properties such as protecting the coated material or esthetic properties to decorate and provide pleasant appearance. Coatings have historically dried by evaporation of solvents, but now, UV curing coatings are on the uprising. READ MORE

  5. 5. Hydrologic modelling of the Zackenberg river basin : an applied study using the Soil and Water Assessment Tool

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Author : Malin Ahlbäck; [2018]
    Keywords : Greenland; SWAT; High Arctic; Distributed Hydrologic Modelling; GIS; surface Water; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : Since the 1980s, the Arctic has experienced an amplified warming of more than twice the rate of the global-mean, leading to large-scale changes in the Arctic hydrologic system, ultimately having cascading feedbacks on the global climate. However, few of today’s distributed models manage to capture the complex processes in Arctic hydrology, and therefore, the aim of this thesis was to evaluate the usage of the distributed Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) model, to see whether it could capture the different surface water paths and processes characterizing the Arctic water cycle.
