11. Rejection of the Photon Induced Background in LDMX at 8 GeV
University essay from Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenAbstract : The Light Dark Matter eXperiment (LDMX) is a proposed fixed target experiment at SLAC's LCLS-II electron beamline that will attempt direct production of sub-GeV dark matter, measurable through a missing momentum and missing energy signature. An initial run of LDMX is planned at 4 GeV beam energy, for which a study on LDMX's capabilities to separate dark matter production events from the standard model background was previously performed. 12. Statistical Analysis of Dark Counts in Superconducting Nanowire Single Photon Detectors
University essay from KTH/FysikAbstract : In this paper we perform a statistical analysis of dark counts in superconducting nanowire single photon detectors (SNSPDs) with the end goal of creating a quantum random number generator (QRNG) using these dark counts. We confirm that dark counts are Poissonian for low bias currents and that no afterpulsing is present. READ MORE

13. Test setup for LDMX HCal readout
University essay from Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenAbstract : It is evident from cosmological observations such as the Cosmic Microwave Background, and the motion of galaxies, that the universe consists of approximately 5 times more mass than visible matter can account for. The Light Dark Matter eXperiment (LDMX) will take a unique approach in its hunt for dark matter; it will look for missing momentum signals in electron collisions with a Tungsten target, and will be looking in the sub GeV energy range for evidence of dark matter interactions. 14. Searching for Dark Photons with Jet
University essay from Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisationAbstract : Dark matter is the greatest mystery of modern particle physics and cosmology. Although an overwhelming amount of observational cosmological evidence has pointed towards a dark sector, only its gravitational effect has been experimentally confirmed. READ MORE

15. Dark Photon decay generated by muons in the SHiP experiment
University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för materialvetenskapAbstract : This project has investigated the muon background of the SHiP experiment to determine whether it can boost the experiment sensitivity to visible Dark Photon decay. Using Fermi-Weizsäcker-Williams approximation to muon scattering we found the probability of muons generating massive photons, using Bremsstrahlung and direct lepton pair production as an estimation of the frequency of muon EM-interactions.
