  1. 6. Development of a Design Tool in CAD for Fused Deposition Modelled Coolant Nozzles in Grinding : Design automation of coolant nozzles

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Produktrealisering

    Author : Joachim Neguembor; [2022]
    Keywords : Design Automation; Fused Deposition Modelling; DOE; Grinding Coolant; Grinding Process; Coolant Supply in Grinding; Design of Experiment; Surrogate Model Optimization; Coolant Nozzle; Design Automering; Slipande Bearbetning; Kylvätskemunstycke;

    Abstract : This thesis covers the process of automating the design of coolant nozzles used for cylindrical grinding. Coolant nozzles are used to supply coolant, an oil and water mixture used to cool the metal workpiece and lubricate the grinding wheel. In the automotive industry, grinding is used to reduce the surface roughness of the workpiece. READ MORE

  2. 7. Multivariate Data Analysis on (Ti,Al)N Arc-PVD coating process : MVDA of the growth parameters thickness, stress,composition, and cutting performance

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Oorganisk kemi

    Author : Per-Olof Öqvist; [2021]
    Keywords : chemistry; material; coating; statistics; PLS; PCA; kemi; material; beläggning; statistik; PLS; PCA;

    Abstract : This diploma work was done at Seco Tools AB (SECO) in Fagersta and aimed to evaluate the possibility to model the relationship between deposition data, deposition properties and, cutting performance of a (Ti,Al)N coating on cutting inserts by applying the Multivariate Data Analysis (MVDA) modeling technique Partial Least Squares Projection to Latent Structures Modeling (PLS). Cathodic Arc Deposition (Arc-PVD) was the PVD technique focused on this study. READ MORE

  3. 8. HETEROGENEOUS BATTERY SYSTEMS IN BATTERY EQUIPPED PASSENGER TRAINS

    University essay from Mälardalens högskola/Akademin för innovation, design och teknik

    Author : Emil Lundin; Johan Bergelin; [2021]
    Keywords : LabVIEW; MATLAB; Simulink; Control theory; Battery; Batteries; Li-ion; Heterogeneous batteries; LTO; NMC; Electronics; Electrical; Engineering; Simulation; Trains; SysML; UML; LTSpice; Design of experiments; DOE; Sensor technology; Railway; EV; Electrical vehicles;

    Abstract : The rise of batteries in the industry, especially Li-ion, is increasing rapidly. Li-ion battery systems are traditionally composed of a particular type of cell chemistry fit to the system needs. Due to the significant differences between chemistries, different cells have different attributes. READ MORE

  4. 9. Development of headspace solid phase microextraction gas chromatography mass spectrometry method for analysis of volatile organic compounds in board samples : Correlation study between chromatographic data and flavor properties

    University essay from Karlstads universitet/Institutionen för ingenjörs- och kemivetenskaper (from 2013)

    Author : Thea Zethelius; [2021]
    Keywords : Solid phase microextraction SPME ; method development; volatile organic compounds VOCs ; food contact material FCM ; flavor experience; design of experiment DoE ; multivariate analysis;

    Abstract : The purpose of this thesis work was to develop a headspace solid phase microextraction gas chromatography mass spectrometry (HS-SPME-GC-MS) method to detect volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in board samples and to statistically investigate potential correlation between chromatographic data and flavor data obtained from a trained panel. The developed method would hopefully serve as a complement to the already established routine analyses at Stora Enso and gain an increased understanding of which VOCs in the board influence its flavor properties. 5. 10. Design and Optimization of Ultrafiltration Membrane Setup for Wastewater Treatment and Reuse

    University essay from KTH/Hållbar utveckling, miljövetenskap och teknik

    Author : Ekansh Sharma; [2020]
    Keywords : parameters; membrane; predict; optimize; quality; reduction;

    Abstract : With the advances in the membrane technology, there is an ongoing quest to determine the best optimal configuration for an adopted treatment as well as it’s polishing to achieve cumulative sustainability for the treatment process. Henceforth, this thesis report is an evaluation to devise a membrane filtration process for investigating the possibility of treating pre-sedimented municipal wastewater with ceramic ultrafiltration, optimizing the membrane as a pre-treatment for reverse osmosis as an overall strategy for recovering wastewater.
