  1. 1. A Comparison Between Implementations of Cryptographic Algorithms and Their Efficiency in Smartphone Computing Environments : Exploring the Performance Trade-offs of Performing Cryptographic Work in Different Smartphone Development Frameworks

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Ossian Dillner; [2023]
    Keywords : Cryptography; Security; Privacy; Smartphones; Kryptografi; Säkerhet; Integritet; Smartphones;

    Abstract : In the recent decade concern for privacy has massively increased in the public consciousness. As a result of this development, demand for end-to-end secure communications in all manner of applications has also seen a rapid increase. This development can however often be at odds with other consumer demands. READ MORE

  2. 2. Axisymmetric capillary water waves on cylindrical fluid jets

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Matematik (naturvetenskapliga fakulteten); Lunds universitet/Matematikcentrum

    Author : Anna-Mariya Otsetova; [2023]
    Keywords : Euler equations; Bernoulli boundary condition; Schauder estimates; nonlinear functional analysis; Mathematics and Statistics;

    Abstract : In their paper, Vanden-Broeck, Miloh and Spivack (Wave Motion 27, 1998) describe two limiting behaviours of irrotational, axisymmetric capillary water waves using numerical methods. They found a two-parameter family of nontrivial solutions. Some solutions of small amplitude approach a uniform stream, while others approach a static configuration. READ MORE

  3. 3. The Elliptic Curve Method : A Modern Approach to Integer Factorization

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för teknikvetenskap (SCI)

    Author : Felix Cao; [2023]
    Keywords : Pollard s p-1 method; Factorization; Elliptic curves; Lentra s; Elliptic curve method;

    Abstract : In this paper, we present a study of elliptic curves, focusing on theirunderlying mathematical concepts, properties and applications in numbertheory. We begin by introducing elliptic curves and their unique features,discussing their algebraic structure, and exploring their group law, pro-viding examples and geometric interpretations. READ MORE

  4. 4. Bootstrapping Secure Sensor Networks in the Internet of Things

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Johan Edman; [2022]
    Keywords : Internet of Things; Machine-to-machine communications; Internet security; Cryptographic protocols; Sakernas internet; Maskin-till-maskin kommunikation; Säkerhet på internet; Kryptografiska protokoll;

    Abstract : The Internet of Things has become an integral part of modern society and continues to grow and evolve. The devices are expected to operate in various conditions and environments while securely transmitting sensor data and keeping low manufacturing costs. Security for the Internet of Things is still in its infancy and a serious concern. READ MORE

  5. 5. Effective quasiparallelogram laws on elliptic curves over number fields

    University essay from Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för matematiska vetenskaper

    Author : Douglas Molin; [2021-05-21]
    Keywords : height; elliptic curve; quasiparallelogram law; canonical height; difference bounds;

    Abstract : We introduce the classical theory of heights on projective space and prove explicit quasiparallelogram laws for the ordinary height and the naive height on elliptic curves over number fields with shortWeierstrass equations. As corollaries, we obtain bounds for the differences between the classical heights and the canonical height, similar to the well-known Silverman bounds. READ MORE
