  1. 6. MetaStackVis: Visually-Assisted Performance Evaluation of Metamodels in Stacking Ensemble Learning

    University essay from Linnéuniversitetet/Institutionen för datavetenskap och medieteknik (DM)

    Author : Ilya Ploshchik; [2023]
    Keywords : Visualization; interaction; metamodels; validation metrics; predicted probabilities; stacking; stacked generalization; ensemble learning; machine learning;

    Abstract : Stacking, also known as stacked generalization, is a method of ensemble learning where multiple base models are trained on the same dataset, and their predictions are used as input for one or more metamodels in an extra layer. This technique can lead to improved performance compared to single layer ensembles, but often requires a time-consuming trial-and-error process. READ MORE

  2. 7. Stock market analysis with a Markovian approach: Properties and prediction of OMXS30

    University essay from KTH/Matematisk statistik

    Author : Max Aronsson; Anna Folkesson; [2023]
    Keywords : Markov chain; OMXS30; Markov chain properties; voting ensemble model; markovkedja; OMXS30; egenskaper hos markovkedjor; ensemble-modell;

    Abstract : This paper investigates how Markov chain modelling can be applied to the Swedish stock index OMXS30. The investigation is two-fold. Firstly, a Markov chain is based on index data from recent years, where properties such as transition matrix, stationary distribution and hitting time are studied. READ MORE

  3. 8. Unsupervised Online Anomaly Detection in Multivariate Time-Series

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Datorteknik

    Author : Ludvig Segerholm; [2023]
    Keywords : unsupervised; online; anomaly detection; explainable ai; machine learning; mahalanobis distance;

    Abstract : This research aims to identify a method for unsupervised online anomaly detection in multivariate time series in dynamic systems in general and on the case study of Devwards IoT-system in particular. A requirement of the solution is its explainability, online learning and low computational expense. READ MORE

  4. 9. Credit Card Approval Prediction : A comparative analysis between logistic regressionclassifier, random forest classifier, support vectorclassifier with ensemble bagging classifier.

    University essay from Blekinge Tekniska Högskola/Institutionen för datavetenskap

    Author : Dhanush Janapareddy; Narendra Chowdary Yenduri; [2023]
    Keywords : Machine Learning; Logistic Regression; Random Forest; Support Vector Machine; Ensemble Learning Bagging.;

    Abstract : Background. Due to an increasing number of credit card defaulters, companies arenow taking greater precautions when approving credit applications. When a customermeets certain requirements, credit card firms typically use their experience todecide whether to grant them a credit card. READ MORE

  5. 10. Spectromorphological Reductions : Exploring and developing approaches for sound-based notation of live electronics

    University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Musik, medier och teater

    Author : Hans Lennart Jonsäll; [2023]
    Keywords : live electronics; electronic music; electroacoustic music; notation; spectromorphology; typo-morphology; Sound Notation; digital musical instruments.;

    Abstract : In this master’s thesis, a sound-based notation system is explored and developed in the composition and performance of a musical work for live electronics. My approach builds on existing systems for electroacoustic music analysis, most notably Dennis Smalley’s (1997) theory of spectromorphology and the symbolic language of Lasse Thoresen & Andreas Hedman (2007) based on Pierre Schaeffer’s typo-morphology, as well as Mattias Sköld’s (2023) adaptation of this system for composition and transcription (Sound Notation).
