  1. 1. Effects of Varying Precision on a FPGA using the SpMXV problem : A comparative study

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Vendela Asplund; Martin Lindefors; [2023]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : With Moore’s Law slowing down, designing computer hardware that keeps up with the performance demands is becoming increasingly difficult. An interesting area of research is the Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) which is a re-programmable hardware device, and which might not be as dependent on Moore’s Law as other hardware. 2. 2. FPGA Accelerated Digital Image Correlation For Clamping Force Measurement

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : János Csanád Csuvarszki; [2023]
    Keywords : Digital image correlation; Field-programmable gate array; High-level synthesis;

    Abstract : Digital image correlation is a contactless optical method used for displacement and strain measurement which has become increasingly popular in the field of experimental mechanics. A specialized use case for the algorithm is to measure the clamping force in bolted joints, a crucial metric when considering the longevity and reliability of the constructs. READ MORE

  3. 3. Mapping quantized convolutional layers on the SiLago platform

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Yue Zhang; [2022]
    Keywords : SiLago; algorithm mapping; quantized neural networks; convolution; SiLago; algoritmkartläggning; kvantiserade neurala nätverk; faltning;

    Abstract : Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have been utilized in various applications, such as image classification, computer vision, etc. With development, the complexity and computation of CNNs also increase, which requires more memory and resources when deployed on devices, especially embedded systems. 4. 4. Towards Embedded Implementations of Multi-Armed Bandit Algorithms for Optimised Channel Selection

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för informationsteknologi

    Author : Alex Kangas; [2021]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The proliferation of Internet of Things increases the demand for achieving a high performance for embedded devices on the Internet. The IEEE 802.15.4 wireless network standard provides ultra low complexity, cost, power consumption and data rate for inexpensive devises, although it has problems such as external interference and multi-path fading. 5. 5. Homogenization of an elliptic transmission system modeling the flux of oxygen from blood vessels to tissues

    University essay from

    Author : Filippo Di Tillio; [2021]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Motivated by the study of the hypoxia problem in cancerous tissues, we propose a system of coupled partial differential equations defined on a heterogeneous, periodically perforated  domain describing the flux of oxygen from blood vessels towards the tissue and the corresponding oxygen diffusion within the tissue. Using heuristics based on dimensional analysis, we rephrase the initially parabolic problem as a semi-linear elliptic transmission problem. READ MORE
