  1. 1. SUSTAINABLE LUBRICATION FOR FUTURE TRANSMISSIONS : Micropitting performance of Glycerol-based lubricants

    University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för teknikvetenskap och matematik

    Author : Zapata Tamayo Juan Guillermo; [2021]
    Keywords : micropitting; mild sliding wear; surface coating; diamond-like carbon DLC; glycerol-based lubrication; green lubricant; rolling contact fatigue; rolling-sliding;

    Abstract : Achieving sustainable lubrication by using environmentally friendly formulated lubricants has became an essential component of the transition process from fossil-powered vehicles to electrified transportation. Mixtures, or aqueous solutions of molecules such as polyhydroxy alcohols, and glycols usually known as green lubricants make it possible to achieve low friction coefficients under different lubrication conditions, which constitutes a potential alternative to improve the tribological performance of moving parts in automotive systems, at the same time that the environmental requirements are satisfied. 2. 2. Design and development of an automated rat trap for sewage system

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Author : Vallabh Venkatachalam; [2021]
    Keywords : Rat trap; automated trap; sewage systems; mechanical rat trap; Råttfälla; automatiserad fälla; avloppssystem; mekanisk råttfälla;

    Abstract : This thesis report describes the design and development of an automated rat trap for sewage system. This rat trap has been designed to have a working duration of 2 months or approximately 15749 hits with trap dimensions length 535 mm, width 430 mm and a height range of 931 – 1151 mm with respect to different sewer pipe diameters. 3. 3. Comparing Machine Learning Estimation of Fuel Consumption of Heavy-duty Vehicles

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Victor Bodell; [2020]
    Keywords : Artificial Neural Networks; Fuel Consumption; Machine Learning; Regression; Statistical tests; ; Artificiella Neurala Nätverk; Bränsleförbrukning; Maskininlärning; Regression; Statistisk evaluering; ;

    Abstract : Fuel consumption is one of the key factors in determining expenses of operating a heavy-duty vehicle. A customer may therefor request an estimate of the fuel consumption of a given vehicle. Scania uses modular design when constructing heavy-duty vehicles. READ MORE

  4. 4. Finite Element Modelling of Compact Gears Using Strain Measurements

    University essay from KTH/Maskinkonstruktion (Avd.)

    Author : Saujanya Shah; [2020]

    Abstract : Robot design and development has been the backbone of industrial automation and is in the forefront of accelerated development across all areas. Robot designers have been using simulations for reducing product development lead times. READ MORE

  5. 5. Fault detection of planetary gearboxes in BLDC-motors using vibration and acoustic noise analysis

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för elektroteknik

    Author : Henrik Ahnesjö; [2020]
    Keywords : Planetary gearbox; Fault detection; Condition Monitoring; Support Vector Machine SVM ; Machine Learning; Supervised Machine Learning; Defect Pinion; Defect Planet Gear; MATLAB; LabVIEW; Soundproof-box; Noise Vibration Harshness NVH ; Gearmesh Frequency GMF ; Power Spectrum; BLDC-motor;

    Abstract : This thesis aims to use vibration and acoustic noise analysis to help a production line of a certain motor type to ensure good quality. Noise from the gearbox is sometimes present and the way it is detected is with a human listening to it. This type of error detection is subjective, and it is possible for human error to be present.
