  1. 1. Introducing Gestures: Exploring Feedforward in Touch-Gesture Interfaces

    University essay from Malmö universitet/Fakulteten för kultur och samhälle (KS)

    Author : Martin Lindberg; [2019]
    Keywords : Interaction design; Natural user interface; Gestural interaction; User-centered design research; Self-revealing gestures;

    Abstract : This interaction design thesis aimed to explore how users could be introduced to the different functionalities of a gesture-based touch screen interface. This was done through a user-centred design research process where the designer was taught different artefacts by experienced users. READ MORE

  2. 2. Gesture-Driven Interaction in Head-Mounted Display AR: Guidelines for Design Within the Context of the Order Picking Process in Logistic Warehouses

    University essay from Malmö universitet/Fakulteten för kultur och samhälle (KS)

    Author : Robin Medin; [2018]
    Keywords : AR; HMD; Gesture; Interaction;

    Abstract : This thesis investigates how gesture-driven interfaces, integrated in HMD- based (Head-Mounted Display) Augmented Reality (AR) devices can be used in the context of order picking processes in logistic warehouses as a substitute to existing solutions for visualisation and interaction with order picking lists: which hand gestures should be used? What qualities are essential for designing a successful substitute? By applying an User-Centered Design approach, generative ideation methodologies, prototyping and usability testing this research results in a contribution to a framework of design guidelines for designing gesture-driven AR in the order picking process, as well as a proposition of a gestural interaction language grounded in both earlier research and empirical findings. The empirical findings include details of the end users’ gestural interaction preferences and content-related considerations, which was implemented in a low fidelity prototype and evaluated in the contextual domain of the end users. 3. 3. Emergent IoT configurations for same-place collaboration

    University essay from Malmö högskola/Fakulteten för kultur och samhälle (KS)

    Author : Felipe Erias Morandeira; [2015]
    Keywords : interaction design; prototyping; mesh networks; mobile; gestural interfaces; collaboration; presentations; IoT; IOTAP;

    Abstract : This thesis project describes a system to make presentations more collaborative, consisting on a mobile application using mesh technology.The mesh network may be set up through the choreography of interaction created by attendees tapping their phones together at the start of the meeting. 4. 4. Sonic feedback cues for hand-gesture photo-taking : Designing non-visual feedback for a touch-less hand-gesture based photo-taking experience

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för informations- och kommunikationsteknik (ICT)

    Author : Frank Wambutt; [2011]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : This thesis aims to investigate design options for a touch-less freehandgesture interface for photo-taking, specifically its applied feedback possibilities. It was assumed that pure sound or sound and verbal responses are sufficiently supporting the interaction. READ MORE

  5. 5. The Challenge of Designing Gestures for Interaction

    University essay from Blekinge Tekniska Högskola/Institutionen för arbetsvetenskap och medieteknik
