1. Impacts of future sea level rise and high water on roads, railways and environmental objects: a GIS analysis of the potential effects of increasing sea levels and highest projected high water in Scania, Sweden
University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskapAbstract : This study uses GIS analyses to investigate the risk that increasing sea levels and highest projected highwater pose by increasing the risk of inundation on state-owned roads and railways as well as environmental objects in their side areas. This is done through an assessment of sea level rise projections and a risk analysis, which points out where vulnerable features are located and provides timeframes and durations for the risk. 2. Impact of southern Baltic sea-level changes on landscape development in the Verkeån River valley at Haväng, southern Sweden, during the early and mid Holocene
University essay from Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionenAbstract : In the Hanö bay off the coast at Haväng in SE Scania, southern Sweden, a submerged and well-preserved Mesolithic landscape is found, including remains of trees, river and lagoon sediments, and archaeological artefacts such as an antler pick axe and stationary fishing constructions. The landscape was formed during the Yoldia Sea (11,700-10,800 cal BP) and Initial Littorina Sea (9800-8500) low-water phases of the Baltic Basin. READ MORE

3. Investigating Inundation Impacts Caused by Extreme Sea Level Rise at Nacka Municipality
University essay from KTH/Mark- och vattenteknikAbstract : Numerous efforts have been employed to explore plausible future sea level rise range as well as improving the ice sheet dynamic that was considered as the biggest challenge in sea level projections. These results in the availability of numerous corresponding Global Mean Sea Level (GMSL), a property that exhibits the problem of deep uncertainty. READ MORE

4. Lithofacies analysis and heterogeneity study of the subsurface Rhaetian-Pliensbachian sequence in SW Skåne and Denmark
University essay from Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionenAbstract : The geological setting of Skåne is the outcome of successive phases of transtensional tectonics, block-faulting, subsidence, transpression and inversion focused around the Sorgenfrei-Tornquist Zone. The Höllviken Halfgraben is one of the major blocks in southwestern Skåne with a Rhaetian–Pliensbachian succession characterized by interbedding of arenaceous and argillaceous facies of local and regional extent. 5. Sequence stratigraphy, palynology and biostratigraphy across the Ordovician-Silurian boundary in the Röstånga-1 core, southern Sweden
University essay from Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionenAbstract : A multiproxy study on sedimentary rocks spanning the Ordovician-Silurian boundary has been performed on material from the Röstånga-1 core, with the aims to improve the biostratigraphical and sedimentological framework and to interpret the depositional environment during this interval in Earth’s history. The sedimentary succession in the Röstånga-1 core is developed in the Scanian Lithofacies Belt and is considered an excellent upper Middle Ordovician-Lower Silurian reference section for southernmost Sweden.
