  1. 6. The Ordovician Orthoceratite Limestone and the Blommiga Bladet hardground complex at Horns Udde, Öland

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Author : Magnus Eriksson; [2010]
    Keywords : Orthoceratite Limestone; hardground; Lanna; Volkhov; Dapingian; Gastrochaenolites oelandicus; Blommiga Bladet; sea-level; Ortoceratitkalkstenen; hårdbotten; havsnivå; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : Blommiga Bladet, Flowery Sheet in English, is an Early Ordovician (basal Dapingian) hardground complex in the lowermost part of the Orthoceratite Limestone in southern Sweden. It formed in an epicontinental sea, across Baltoscandia and has been described also from Russia as “Steklo”, from Estonia as “Pustakkith” and from deep borings in Poland, thus covering an area exceeding 500,000 km². 2. 7. Changes in beyrichiid ostracode faunas during the Late Silurian Lau Event on Gotland, Sweden

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Author : Rebecka Rääf; [2010]
    Keywords : Gotland; Late Silurian; Lau Event; ostracodes; Beyrichiidae; faunal turnovers; Sensilur; Laukatastrofen; ostrakoder; beyrichiider; faunaförändringar; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : This paper deals with how palaeocope ostracodes of the family Beyrichiidae, from the Silurian strata at Gotland were affected by the Late Silurian Lau Event. The Lau Event is associated with a positive carbon isotope excursion, lithology changes and faunal changes in accumulated strata related to sea-level changes and a glaciation in the Late Ludlow. 3. 8. Palynology of Oligocene to middle Miocene sediments from ODP leg 159, site 959 offshore Ivory Coast, equatorial West Africa

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Author : Elin Hult; [2009]
    Keywords : Palynomorphs; Oligocene; Miocene; ODP leg 159 site 959; Ivory Coast; palaeoenvironment; climate; Palynomorfer; Oligocen; Miocen; Elfenbenskusten; palaeomiljö; klimat; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : Oligocen och Miocen karaktäriseras av flera klimatoscillationer som följer de primära Milankovitchcyklerna men varierar i magnitud. Dinoflagellater är känsliga miljöindikatorer såväl som biostratigrafimarkörer, men deras användning som det föregående har i huvudsak varit begränsat till högre latituder. READ MORE

  4. 9. Holocene relative sea-level changes in the Tasiusaq area, southern Greenland, with focus on the Ta4 basin

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Author : Daniel Fredh; [2008]
    Keywords : sea-level changes; isolation basin; deglaciation; Tasiusaq; Bredefjord; southern Greenland; Holocene; havsnivåförändringar; isolation; Bredefjorden; södra Grönland; holocen; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : Endast ett fåtal observationer har tidigare gjorts från inre delen av Bredefjorden i södra Grönland. I denna studie presenteras en ny strandförskjutningskurva från området kring Tasiusaq baserad i huvudsak på sedimentanalyser från en marin bassäng. READ MORE

  5. 10. Holocene relative sea-level changes in the Tasiusaq area, southern Greenland, with focus on the Ta1 and Ta3 basins

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Author : Linda Randsalu; [2008]

    Abstract : Results from an investigation of relative sea-level changes from c. 11,000 cal. yr BP to the present in the Tasiusaq area, Inner Bredefjord, southwest Greenland, are presented in this thesis. Isolation sequences from two small lakes have been identified using stratigraphic analyses, XRF-scanning, loss on ignition and macrofossil analyses. READ MORE
