  1. 1. Building an in-house spectral library using GCorbitrap HRMS

    University essay from Örebro universitet/Institutionen för naturvetenskap och teknik

    Author : Elias Kolsmyr; [2022]
    Keywords : Environmental contaminants; Plastic additives; Gas chromatography; High resolution mass spectrometry; Spectral library; MS-DIAL;

    Abstract : There are a great variety of environmentals contaminants, a lot of which are understudied asit is today. The aim of this study was to develop an in-house high-resolution spectral librarycontaining environmental contaminants, with focus on plastic additives. The spectral librarywould then be used to perform suspect screening on real sample extracts. READ MORE

    Abstract : Since the late 18th century, chemicals have been industrially produced, and used by consumers. Today, the number of registered chemicals are over 150 000 in North America and Europe alone, and the number is predicted to increase. READ MORE

  3. 3. Determination of dioxins in Cretaceous strata from the South of Sweden. : Can the environmental anthropogenic pollutant dioxin be of natural origin ?

    University essay from Örebro universitet/Institutionen för naturvetenskap och teknik

    Author : Kelly GUILBOT; [2012]
    Keywords : old clay layers; octachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin; high resolution gas chromatography-high resolution mass spectrometry; analyzer-isotopic ratio mass spectrometry; isotopic dilution.  ;

    Abstract : Eleven sediment samples from different geological layers and four fossils from the South of Sweden were collected and estimated to be 80 million years old (approximately late of Cretaceous period). The samples were analyzed for polychlorinated dibenzo-p dioxins (PCDD/Fs) to investigate whether these samples are likely to contain dioxins from a natural formation. READ MORE
