  1. 1. Designing k-Space Filters to Improve Spatiotemporal Resolution with Sector-Wise Golden Angle (SWIG)

    University essay from KTH/Medicinteknik och hälsosystem

    Author : Jonas Ström Seez; [2022]
    Keywords : Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Imaging CMR ; k-Space Filter; Sector Wise Golden-angle SWIG ; Kardiovaskulär Magnetisk Resonans Tomografi CMR ; k-rumsfilter; Sektorsvis Gyllene Vinkel SWIG ;

    Abstract : The aim of this thesis is to design and evaluate k-space weighting filters for simultaneously improving the spatial and temporal resolution of cardiovascular MRI, with the ultimate goal of improving the accuracy of quantitative flow measurements, which are important for diagnosis and follow-up of heart dysfunction. Two different k-space filters were implemented and evaluated retrospectively to already acquired data. READ MORE

  2. 2. Extracting Cardiac and Respiratory Self-Gating Signals from Magnetic Resonance Imaging Data

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för teknik och hälsa (STH)

    Author : Rebecca Hellström Karlsson; Tobias Peterson; [2015]
    Keywords : MRI; MR; magnetic resonance imaging; SG; self-gating; cardiac; cardiac MRI; sliding window reconstruction; motion artefacts; motion correction; 3D; signal filtering; MRI; MR; magnetisk resonanstomografi; SG; self-gating; hjärta; hjärt-MR; sliding window reconstruction; signalfiltrering; rörelseartefakter; rörelsekorrigering; 3D;

    Abstract : Motion artefacts due to cardiac and respiratory motion present a daily challenge in cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), and many different motion correction procedures are used in clinical routine imaging. To reduce motion artefacts further, patients are required to hold their breath during parts of the data acquisition, which is physically straining – especially when done repetitively. READ MORE

  3. 3. Denoising of Complex MRI Data by Wiener-like Filtering in the Wavelet Domain - Application to High b-value Diffusion Weighted Imaging

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Sjukhusfysikerutbildningen

    Author : Adnan Bibic; [2006]
    Keywords : MRI; Medicine and Health Sciences;

    Abstract : Noise is a well-known problem in many imaging modalities. In magnitude magnetic resonance images, obtained by quadrature detection, the associated Rician distribution of noise constitutes a further complication. This type of noise is especially problematic at low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) regions. READ MORE
