1. Transverse Momentum Spectra in pp collisions (\sqrt{s}\) = 7 TeV and \(\sqrt{s}\) = 13 TeV in ALICE
University essay from Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysikAbstract : In this project particle production as a function of transverse momentum (\(p_{\rm T}\)) in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy (\(\sqrt{s}\)) of 7 TeV and 13 TeV has been studied. The transverse momentum is interesting to study since it reflects momentum created in the collision (before the collision, all momentum is in the beam - going in a longitudinal direction) and therefore gives information on the collision dynamics. 2. Fitting the pion and kaon mass and decay constant to lattice data
University essay from Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisationAbstract : We use lattice QCD data to perform a fit of the pion and kaon mass and decay constant to next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) in three-flavor Chiral Perturbation Theory (ChPT). To improve our fits, we make use of finite volume corrections at both one- and two-loop order. This turns out to provide a small but noticeable improvement of our fits. READ MORE

3. The kaon electromagnetic mass difference in AdS/QCD
University essay from Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisation; Lunds universitet/Institutionen för astronomi och teoretisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisationAbstract : In this thesis, a holographic model for quantum chromodynamics (QCD) is used to estimate the electromagnetic contribution to the kaon mass difference. The principal ideas of the model are inspired by the AdS/CFT correspondence, which is believed to be exact. READ MORE
