  1. 1. Hosting Tour De France Under Covid-19: Bargain Or Burden For New Stage Cities?

    University essay from Umeå universitet/Institutionen för geografi

    Author : Cyril Herzet; [2021]
    Keywords : Tour De France; Sport Tourism; Cycling Events; Media Exposure; Place Reputation; Place Commodification; Community Development.; Tour De France; Tourisme Sportif; Courses Cyclistes; Exposition Médiatique; Réputation des Lieux; Marchandisation des Lieux; Développement des Communautés.;

    Abstract : The Tour De France (TDF) is the third largest sporting event in the world and the biggest cycling race in terms of popularity and prestige. The event generates global media exposure and attracts millions of short- and long-term visitors each year, thus, TDF is extremely appealing for communities in search of profits. READ MORE

  2. 2. Signal background interference effects in lepton trident events with a new low mass mediator

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisation

    Author : Patricia Andrea Gutiérrez García; [2020]
    Keywords : dark matter; pythia; matrix element corrections; LDM; Dire; Madgraph; dark photons; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : In this project we present a phenomenological study of signal to background interference effects in leptonic tridents produced in parton showers. The interference effects are introduced by linking matrix element corrections of a kinetically mixed dark photon model to the parton shower Dire. READ MORE

  3. 3. The Weave - An Investigation into the Intersection of Craft and 3D-printing

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för arkitektur och byggd miljö

    Author : Albin Karlsson; Johanna Jonsson; [2019]
    Keywords : Arts and Architecture;

    Abstract : This project is a proposal for structural construction through fabrication and assembly of 3D-printed ceramic bricks developed side by side with a metaphysical investigation into the potential to express the living nature of matter through its material and formal attributes. Through an explorative process in the intersection of craft and digital fabrication, we have developed a system for LDM extrusion of composite bricks consisting of an outer ceramic shell and a low-density cementitious core, an integrated design flow based on procedural generation of fractal patterns and topological weaving, and an assembly logic capable of complex architectural expressions. 4. 4. Promoting Human Rights in China through Education : An Empirical Impact Evaluation of the Swedish Approach from Student Perspectives

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Centrum för öst- och sydöstasienstudier

    Author : Jessica I. Yeh; [2008]
    Keywords : Law and Development; human rights education; legal education; human rights; legal reform in China; Sweden; development cooperation; donors; impact; social change; Social Sciences;

    Abstract : Using a master’s-level human rights program funded by Sweden at Peking University, this case study sought to explore the connection between legal education and social change as influentially advanced by the Law and Development Movement (LDM) and now reflected in various donor-funded law and governance projects in China. To evaluate the program’s underlying assumptions of change, the study examined the program’s impact from the perspectives of its intended beneficiaries, the students, through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and questionnaires. 5. 5. Investigation of the Symmetries of the Phonons in 4H and 6H-SiC by Infrared Absorption and Raman Spectroscopy

    University essay from Institutionen för fysik, kemi och biologi

    Author : Hina Ashraf; [2005]
    Keywords : Raman spectroscopy; Silicon Carbide SiC ; IR absorption Spectroscopy; Phonon displacements; Lattice dynamic model LDM ; 4h-SiC; 6H-SiC; Polar modes in SiC;

    Abstract : The goal of the project work has been to study the symmetry of the phonons in 4H and 6H-SiC for different measuring geometries by using two experimental techniques, Raman and infrared absorption (IR) spectroscopy, and a theoretical model. The Raman spectra were measured in different scattering configurations in order to obtain experimental data for detailed investigation of the phonon symmetries. READ MORE
