  1. 11. Local vegetation history of Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karst.) in central Scandes (Sweden) since the mid-Holocene

    University essay from SLU/Dept. of Forest Ecology and Management

    Author : Pablo Garrido Rodriguez; [2008]
    Keywords : Holocene; Picea abies; pollen analysis; macrofossils; immigration; peat core; west central Scandes;

  2. 12. The establishment of Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karst.) on two mountains in the Åre area : a follow-up of the macrofossil finds on Mount Åreskutan

    University essay from SLU/Dept. of Forest Ecology and Management

    Author : Lars-Göran Ek; [2004]
    Keywords : Pollen; spruce; Holocene; vegetation history;

    Abstract : The general migration model for Norway spruce (Picea abies) suggests that it arrived and established in Sweden along the Bothnian coast about 3500 years ago. Spruce thereafter spread westwards and southwards in Sweden, and it is suggested to have become established in the Scandes mountains about 1300-1600 years ago. READ MORE

  3. 13. A stratigraphic study of a coastal section through a Late Weichselian kettle hole basin at Ålabodarna, western Skåne, Sweden

  4. 14. Pollen-stratigraphic position of the last Baltic Ice Lake drainage

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Author : Felicia Dobos; [1997]
    Keywords : Baltic Ice Lake; second drainage; Preboreal; Younger Dryas; pollen stratigraphy; mineral magnetic content; total carbon content; Blekinge; Sweden; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : High-resolution analyses of sediments from two sites in Blekinge, south-eastern Sweden (the former Lake Togölen and Lake Bredsjön), were evaluated in order to establish the pollenstratigraphical position of the second and final drainage of the Baltic Ice Lake in relation to the Younger Dryas-Preboreal pollen zone transition. Remanent magnetisation and magnetic susceptibility were used to correlate between parallel cores and to evaluate the amount of inorganic allochthonous material. READ MORE
