  1. 1. Energy & redox fluxes in Lactobacillus reuteri DSM 17938 on different sugars

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Teknisk mikrobiologi; Lunds universitet/Bioteknik

    Author : Katarzyna Bengtsson; [2019]
    Keywords : Energy; redox fluxes; Lactobacillus reuteri DSM 17938; different sugars; applied microbiology; teknisk mikrobiologi; Biology and Life Sciences; Chemistry; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : Under anaerobic condition the specific growth rate of Lactobacillus reuteri DSM 17938 on different sugars, was analyzed using spectrophotometry. Electron acceptor (fructose) supported cells to cope with poor energy recovery by re-oxidising the NADH, thus enabling ATP formation thru acetate production, while fermenting glucose via the phosphoketolase pathway (PKP) and simultaneously operating via Embden-Meyerhof pathway (EMP). 2. 2. Individuella skillnader i grovfoderintag hos mjölkkor : sambandet mellan grovfoderintag och djuregenskaper

    University essay from SLU/Dept. of Animal Nutrition and Management

    Author : Filippa Larsson; [2019]
    Keywords : mjölkkor; foderintag; grovfoderintag; konsumtionsförmåga; djurfaktorer; grovfoder; ensilage;

    Abstract : Dagens mjölkkor utfodras med stora mängder kraftfoder för att åstadkomma en hög mjölkavkastning. Kornas matsmältningsapparat är uppbyggt för att kunna inta stora mängder grovfoder och i Sverige har vi goda förutsättningar för att producera vallfo-der av hög kvalité. READ MORE

  3. 3. Plasmin and plasminogen variation in bovine raw milk : impact of season, breed and milking system

    University essay from SLU/Department of Molecular Sciences

    Author : Jaafar Khaled; [2019]
    Keywords : Plasmin; season; breed; milking system; milk composition; plasminogen;

    Abstract : Plasmin (PL) is a native proteinase in milk, which combines a complex system consisting of its zymogen called plasminogen (PG), inhibitors and activators, which activity is known to make considerable changes in the dairy products, which represent in irregulating of casein hydrolysis and poor clotting properties, that may slow the cheese ripening process and consequently increase the processing expense. The objective of this study was to investigate if on-farm factors (i. READ MORE

  4. 4. CAE och juverhälsa : en översiktsbild över hur CAE påverkar juverhälsa och mjölkproduktion hos mjölkgetter

    University essay from SLU/Dept. of Biomedical Sciences and Veterinary Public Health

    Author : Matilda Kreutz; [2019]
    Keywords : CAE; mastit; celltal; mjölkproduktion; mjölksammansättning; get;

    Abstract : Det huvudsakliga syftet med kommersiell gethållning i Sverige är mjölk som används för ostproduktion. För att ha en bra produktion är det viktigt med friska djur, god juverhälsa och bra mjölkkvalitet. READ MORE

  5. 5. Macronutrients in human milk and infant formula : bioactivity and health effects

    University essay from SLU/Department of Molecular Sciences

    Author : Samantha Christensen Echavez; [2019]
    Keywords : macronutrients; human milk; infant formula; bioactive compounds; health effects;

    Abstract : Human milk has been considered the ultimate food for infants to optimize their growth and development, but it has lately also shown to impact longterm health. Infant formula is the complementary food to neonates who are not breastfed, and its nutrients should mimic human milk as close as possible. READ MORE
