  1. 11. Modified cellulose synthesized by different deep eutectic solvents as an additive in paper making process

    University essay from Karlstads universitet

    Author : Shiniar Said Saleh; [2023]
    Keywords : green chemistry; dry strength additives; deep eutectic solvents; sodium periodate oxidation; charge density; dewatering; mechanical strength.;

    Abstract : The environmental concerns that come with the currently used traditional papermaking process where petroleum-based additives are used, has tempted researchers to study “green” additives by introducing environmentally friendly modifications of cellulose as an additive in the papermaking process. This thesis will spin further on that by producing additives with different charge densities and focus on to incorporate an etherification reaction into potentially greens systems based on non-toxic and readily biodegradable deep eutectic solvent (DES). 2. 12. Characterization of Landscape Structures and Precipitation in relation to Flooding events in Pampa Deprimida : A Minor Field Study in Argentina

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Luft-, vatten- och landskapslära

    Author : Linnea Svärd; [2023]
    Keywords : Pampeana hydrology; flood risk mapping; runoff; infiltration; precipitation; SCSCN; remote sensingg; Hydrologi på Pampas; kartläggning av översvämningsrisker; avrinning; infiltration; nederbörd; SCS-CN; fjärranalys; Hidrología de la Pampa Deprimida; cartografía del riesgo de inundaciones; escorrentía; infiltración; precipitación; SCS-CN; sensores remotos;

    Abstract : The purpose of the thesis is to characterize flood events within the agricultural fields of flooding Pampa in Argentina. The characterization divides the flat landscape into flood prone areas and endeavour at linking driving factors to flood response based on past events. READ MORE

  3. 13. INVESTIGATION OF PHOSPHORUS SORPTION BY SEDIMENT DERIVED BIOCHAR - A LITERATURE REVIEW

    University essay from Mälardalens universitet/Akademin för ekonomi, samhälle och teknik

    Author : Christina Henricson; [2023]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : As excess phosphorus in water bodies causes eutrophication, biochar can be used as an adsorbent to remove phosphorus from water, thus increasing the circularity of phosphorus in the society. This literature review is a summary of recent research on optimised uptake of phosphorus by sediment derived biochar. READ MORE

  4. 14. ROP in novel biobased ionic liquids towards cellulose functionalization

    University essay from KTH/Fiber- och polymerteknologi

    Author : Rebecca Mattsson; [2023]
    Keywords : Ionic liquids; SI-ROP; coROP; polyesters; cellulose; Jonvätska; yt-initierad Ringöppnings-polymerisation; ringöppnings-sampolymerisation; polyestrar; cellulosa;

    Abstract : Ett nytt sätt att aktivera cellulosa för kemisk modifiering med hjälp av en miljövänlig process har utvecklats innan starten av detta projekt. Två versionen av den nyskapade betain-baserade jonvätskan, BBIL har syntetiserats, en som använder mesylat som motjon, M-BBIL och en som använder acetat, A-BBIL. READ MORE

  5. 15. Water emissions from fuel cell-powered construction equipment : Quantifying liquid water and water vapor emissions for sustainable construction equipment

    University essay from Mälardalens universitet/Akademin för ekonomi, samhälle och teknik

    Author : Roni Bulut; Patric Söderberg; [2023]
    Keywords : PEM fuel cell; Simulink; Simscape; construction equipment; exhaust water; liquid water; vapor water; performance;

    Abstract : The construction sector is responsible for 20% of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions, of whichdiesel-powered construction equipment are large contributors. Currently there are many ongoing Fuel Cell (FC) powered construction equipment projects as it is seen as an attractiveoption to power the futures zero-emission heavy-duty machines. READ MORE
