6. Investigation of ECG electrodes for burn wounds
University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för elektroteknikAbstract : This project aims to investigate a variety of electrodes for ECG (electrocardiogram) measurements and find suitable ones for burn wounded skin in association with the Burn center in Uppsala University Hospital. To this purpose, the electrical properties (in particular, electrical impedance and equivalent circuit) of electrodes and the influence of the skin on the electrical properties are looked into, and various common artefacts in ECG measurements are investigated, such as wandering baseline (caused by perspiration, respiration, patient movement and poor electrode contact), muscle tremor artefact, 50-60 Hz power line interference and measurement noise. 7. Simulation of Lower Limb Muscle Activity During Inclined Slope Walking
University essay from KTH/Skolan för kemi, bioteknologi och hälsa (CBH)Abstract : Robotic exoskeletons are designed to assist patients with motor dysfunctions. Recent researches focus on extending the robotic assistance to patient activities other than ground level walking. This study aims to analyse the lower limb muscle activity during inclined slope walking contrasting with that of ground level walking. READ MORE

8. Simulation Of Lower Extremity Muscle Activation During Obstacle Clearance
University essay from KTH/Skolan för kemi, bioteknologi och hälsa (CBH)Abstract : Exoskeletons can be helpful to patients who suffer from muscular dysfunctions. Recent studies focus on exoskeletons which can perform complex human movements. Further analysis is needed in the area of unusual movements like obstacle clearance to design an assistive device which can deliver effective aid to the intended patients in need. READ MORE

9. Muscle contributions to body mass center acceleration during the first stance of sprint running
University essay from KTH/MekanikAbstract : The best results in a sprint running are based upon covering the distance in the shortest possible time, and therefore performance has to be maximized. To achieve the best performance, the sprinter has to develop the greatest forward acceleration, reach his/her maximal speed, and keep it over the run. READ MORE

10. An Analysis of Including the Evolution Law for the Serial Element in the Musculoskeletal Modelling
University essay from Linköpings universitet/Mekanik och hållfasthetsläraAbstract : In the classic Hill model for muscle contraction, the split between the muscle and tendon is arbitrary and the problem lacks a unique solution. Instead of reformulating the problem to a differential-algebraic equation and solving for a set of initial conditions, a constant tendon length is commonly assumed in musculoskeletal simulation tools.
