  1. 1. Development of a Nordic BWR plant model in APROS and design of a power controller using the control rods

    University essay from KTH/Fysik

    Author : Jonathan Al-Ani; [2021]
    Keywords : APROS; Dynamic process simulation; System code; Nuclear reactor; nuclear power; BWR; Boiling Water Reactor; closed cycle; steam cycle; one-dimensional flow; Westinghouse; control rods; APROS; Dynamisk processimulering; Beräkningsmodell; Kärnkraft; BWR; Kokvattenreaktor; ångcykel; en-dimensionell flödesmodell; Westinghouse; kontrollstavar;

    Abstract : In this master thesis an input-model of a Nordic BWR power plant has been developed in APROS. The plant model contains key systems and major thermohydraulic components of the steam cycle, including I&C systems (i.e. power, pressure, level and flow controls). READ MORE

  2. 2. Evaluation of bank erosion and stability analysis along Rönne å at Ängelholm, Sweden

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresurslära

    Author : Arnold Mate Kalimukwa; Abuzack Juma Mohamed; [2021]
    Keywords : HEC-RAS; BSTEM; cross section; erosion; sediment transport; deposition; bank stability; safety factor; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : This master thesis report presents the results of evaluation of bank erosion and stability analysis along Rönne å (river) at Ängelholm, located in south-west of Sweden within Scania. The main objectives cover building a hydrodynamic model, studying parameters that define sediment transport, modelling sediment transport within the river, mapping out erosive stretches and comparing to earlier observational study conducted by Norconsult in 2013, and finally conducting analysis of bank stability in most erosive stretches. 3. 3. Infiltration, hydrogeology, and heterogeneity - Management of pressure and flow: A case study for the Varberg tunnel project

    University essay from Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Author : Lisa Risby; [2020-07-08]
    Keywords : short duration hydraulic tests; hydraulic conductivity; radius of influence; infiltration; heterogeneity; confined and unconfined aquifer;

    Abstract : This thesis aims to describe a conceptual model of the sedimentology for Swedish (or nordic)conditions of heterogeneous aquifers but focus is on a case study in Varberg. This to facilitatethe identification of main water-bearing units (e.g. READ MORE

  5. 5. Implementation, Validation, and Evaluation of 1D-3D CFD Co-simulation for Cooling System of Internal Combustion Engine

    University essay from KTH/Fordonsdynamik

    Author : Amirali Kerachian; [2020]
    Keywords : CFD; 1D-3D Co-simulation; Cooling Systems; Turbulence Modeling; CFD; 1D-3D Co-simulering; kylsystem; turbulensmodellering;

    Abstract : Internal combustion engines, electric motors and batteries generate a significant amount of heat during operation that needs to be extracted by cooling systems. A cooling system is designed and installed to extract the generated heat and maintain the system temperature in an optimal range. READ MORE
