  1. 1. What happened to R-star? : Estimating the natural rate of interest in Sweden in unconventional times

    University essay from Umeå universitet/Nationalekonomi

    Author : Magnus Dahlberg; [2023]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : This study estimates the natural rate of interest in Sweden using two different models. One state-space model introduced by Holston et al. (2017b) and one vector autoregression model with time-varying parameters (TVP-VAR). The TVP-VAR model is then used to produce a forecast of the real interest rate 5 years out, for every point in time. READ MORE

  2. 2. The Resilience of Deep Learning Intrusion Detection Systems for Automotive Networks : The effect of adversarial samples and transferability on Deep Learning Intrusion Detection Systems for Controller Area Networks

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Ivo Zenden; [2022]
    Keywords : Vehicle Security; Deep Learning; Controller Area Network; Intrusion Detection System; Adversarial Samples; Fordonssäkerhet; Deep Learning; Controller Area Network; Intrusion Detection System; kontradiktoriska prover;

    Abstract : This thesis will cover the topic of cyber security in vehicles. Current vehicles contain many computers which communicate over a controller area network. This network has many vulnerabilities which can be leveraged by attackers. To combat these attackers, intrusion detection systems have been implemented. READ MORE

  3. 3. Komstroy: Invalidating investor-State Arbitration Under the Energy Charter Treaty in intra-EU Disputes : Manifesting the Principle of Autonomy of the EU Legal Order, the International Law Infraction and the Investors Caught in Between

    University essay from Stockholms universitet/Juridiska institutionen

    Abstract : This thesis analyses the Court of Justice of the European Union (the Court) recent ruling Komstroy on the compatibility between the EU Treaties and the investor-State arbitration mechanism contained in Article 26 of the multilateral 1994 Energy Charter Treaty (ECT). The Court determined that Article 26 ECT is inapplicable in intra-EU disputes, albeit the European Union (EU) being a Contracting Party to the ECT, because such alternative methods for dispute settlement threatens the autonomy of the EU legal order. 4. 4. Analytic Approximation of Transition Probabilities

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Matematisk statistik

    Author : Jonathan Foley; [2020]
    Keywords : Transition Probability; Markov Process; Stochastic Process; Euler Method; Mathematics and Statistics;

    Abstract : A transition probability is essentially a likelihood of ’something random’ transitioning from one state of being to another. Though, more formally, for all intents and purposes, the ’something random’ is a sequence of random events, which is a stochastic process. There are many stochastic processes that are valuable to understand. READ MORE

  5. 5. Using Markov Decision Processes and Reinforcement Learning to Guide Penetration Testers in the Search for Web Vulnerabilities

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Anders Pettersson; Ossian Fjordefalk; [2019]
    Keywords : Markov decision process; Reinforcement learning; Machine learning; Web vulnerabilities; Attack surfaces; Hacking; Bug Bounty;

    Abstract : Bug bounties are an increasingly popular way of performing penetration tests of web applications. User statistics of bug bounty platforms show that a lot of hackers struggle to find bugs. READ MORE
