  1. 1. Synthesis of glass-ceramic Li2S-P2S5-based electrolyte for solid-state batteries

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Oorganisk kemi

    Author : Leo Sjörén; [2023]
    Keywords : Solid electrolyte; Battery; sulphide; glass; electolyte; ball milling; ceramic; glass-ceramic; Batteri; elektrolyt; glas; glaskeram; svavel;

    Abstract : In this project, solid sulphur based Li3PS4 electrolytes doped with Li4SiO4 were synthesised using two methods. In method A, a bought β-Li3PS4 electrolyte from Nei Corp was doped with 5 mole per cent Li4SiO4, resulting in a glass-ceramic electrolyte. READ MORE

  2. 2. Additively Manufactured Rare Earth Free Permanent Magnets

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Tillämpad materialvetenskap; Uppsala universitet/Oorganisk kemi

    Author : Himesha Abenayake; [2023]
    Keywords : additive manufacturing; MnAl; MnAl C ; rare earth free permanent magnets; selective laser melting; SLM; MnAl-based permanent magnets;

    Abstract : It’s well known that MnAl(C) material consists of a metastable phase (τ) with promising ferromagnetic properties, produced either by controlled cooling from the high-temperature hexagonal ε-phase or rapid cooling that freezes the ε-phase followed by low-temperature annealing. Due to the high cooling rates involved, additive manufacturing (AM) especially selective laser melting (SLM), has been identified as a possible method to retain the high-temperature ε-phase, hence containing a potential capacity to produce permanent magnets upon low-temperature annealing. 3. 3. On the stability of current collectors in high-voltage lithium-ion batteries containing LiFSI electrolytes

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Oorganisk kemi

    Author : Kevin Carlö; [2023]
    Keywords : LiFSI; high-voltage; anodic dissolution; corrosion; aluminum; current collector; electrolyte; battery;

    Abstract : The increasing energy demand requires a transition from fossil fuels to renewable resources. Lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) offer a promising solution as efficient energy storage devices. However, the aluminum current collector (CC) in LIBs is susceptible to anodic dissolution above 3 V vs. READ MORE

  4. 4. Electrochemical strategies to retrieve lost capacity in Li-ion batteries by reversed Li-trapping

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Oorganisk kemi; Uppsala universitet/Strukturkemi

    Author : Christopher Thulin; [2023]
    Keywords : Electrochemistry; lithium trapping; lithium-ion battery; diffusion;

    Abstract : Since the transportation sector wants to move away from fossil fuels and become more dependen ton clean and green energy, the use of rechargeable batteries is a good solution. Lithium-based batteries work very well as rechargeable batteries in electric vehicles. READ MORE

  5. 5. Chromia-Alumina Thin Films from Alkoxide Precursors : From Precursor Synthesis to Deposition and Characterisation

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Oorganisk kemi

    Author : Elina Elvelo; [2023]
    Keywords : alkoxide; synthesis; thin film; coating; alumina; chromia; spinodal decomposition;

    Abstract : A hetero-bimetallic alkoxide CrAl3(OiPr)12 was synthesised through metathesis of achromium(III)chloride THF complex (CrCl3 . 3 THF) and 3 KAl(OiPr)4.It was used as a single sourceprecursor to make oxide powders and films with 1:3 chromium/aluminium compositionthrough sol-gel synthesis.
