  1. 1. Biocatalysis in Pickering emulsions

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Bioteknik (master); Lunds universitet/Bioteknik (CI)

    Author : Christine Vera Isabel Schmidt; [2023]
    Keywords : Enzymes; Pickering emulsion; Amine Transaminases; Green Chemistry; Stereoselectivity; Biotechnology; Biology and Life Sciences;

    Abstract : Employing enzymes as catalysts in the production of chiral amines that are both used as building blocks and active pharmaceutical ingredients might be promising due to milder reaction conditions compared to non-biological catalysts, exclusion of heavy metals, high selectivity towards substrates and precision in chirality of the products. Transaminases are attractive for the use in this process. READ MORE

  2. 2. Michael additions utilizing transition-metal-catalysts, Scope and limitations

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Kemiska institutionen

    Author : Ruben Hansson; [2023]
    Keywords : Green chemistry; transition metal; rare earth metal; Michael addition; Yb; Zr; Hf; analytical chemistry; Chemistry;

    Abstract : The effect that organic solvents have on the environment and the intrinsic risk that come with using them should be limited. By replacing organic solvents with less harmful solvents, such as water, and with more effective catalysts can risks intrinsic to organic solvents be minimized or eliminated. READ MORE

  3. 3. Purification of Volatile Organic Compounds in Channeled Ventilation Pipes at the Sysav Water Treatment Plant for Hazardous Waste

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Kemiteknik (CI)

    Author : Erik Wiktorsson; [2022]
    Keywords : VOC; Zeolite; Catalytic combustion; Sysav; Chemical Engineering; Chemistry; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : Several channeled emissions at the Sysav water treatment plant for hazardous waste as of December 2021 exceed permitted levels of unknown volatile organic compounds (VOCs) stated in the European Parliament councils’ directives 2010/75/EU. A range of possible treatment methods are briefly discussed before zeolite adsorption, and thermal regeneration followed by catalytic combustion is decided to be the method of greatest feasibility and is the subject of further investigation. 4. 4. Chelating agents in NiMo sulfided catalysts and the effect of nitrogen compounds on hydrodearomatization and hydrodenitrogenation reactions

    University essay from KTH/Kemiteknik

    Author : Lilla Lukovicsová; [2022]
    Keywords : hydrotreating; NiMo Al2O3; HDN; HDA; trickle-bed microreactor; Type I and II hydrotreating catalysts; Hydrering; NiMo Al2O3; HDN; HDA; porlbädd reaktor; Typ I och II hydrering katalysatorer;

    Abstract : Hydrering är en viktig process för att producera produkter med önskade egenskaper samt att uppfylla de lagliga krav som existerar med avseende på miljö och hälsa. Reaktionerna som sker vid hydreringen är katalytiska vilket innebär att förstå sam utnyttja de mest lämpliga katalysatorerna är av yttersta vikt. READ MORE

  5. 5. Conversion of CO2 to higher alcohols

    University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Industriell miljö- och processteknik

    Author : Joshua Higby; [2020]
    Keywords : CO2 hydrogenation; higher alcohols; modelling; process intensification;

    Abstract : I rapporten framgår det en termodynamisk analys för reverse water gas shift med att sammanmata etanol för att undvika det långsammaste steget i reaktionen för att producera högre alkoholer. Ifrån ett termodynamiskt perspektiv, verkar det möjligt att utgå ifrån reverse water gas shift för att producera högre alkoholer vid 100 bar med en temperatur på 300C . READ MORE
