1. Additively Manufactured Rare Earth Free Permanent Magnets
University essay from Uppsala universitet/Tillämpad materialvetenskap; Uppsala universitet/Oorganisk kemiAbstract : It’s well known that MnAl(C) material consists of a metastable phase (τ) with promising ferromagnetic properties, produced either by controlled cooling from the high-temperature hexagonal ε-phase or rapid cooling that freezes the ε-phase followed by low-temperature annealing. Due to the high cooling rates involved, additive manufacturing (AM) especially selective laser melting (SLM), has been identified as a possible method to retain the high-temperature ε-phase, hence containing a potential capacity to produce permanent magnets upon low-temperature annealing. 2. Character and Evolution of Ore Mineralisation in the Te-Rich Enåsen Au-Cu Deposit, Central Sweden
University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaperAbstract : The Enåsen gold deposit is located in Gävleborg county in central Sweden. Mining operations at Enåsen took place from 1984 to 1991 with Au as the main target for exploitation. The deposit has been interpreted as a metamorphosed Palaeoproterozoic analogue to near-recent epithermal Au mineralisations of a high sulphidation type. READ MORE

3. Petrography and Mineral Chemistry of the Sälskär Breccia (Alnö Alkaline Complex, Central Sweden)
University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaperAbstract : Primitive magmas can provide important details about the mantle from which they are derived. In this thesis, petrographic observations and new mineral chemistry analyses of the Sälskär breccia from the Alnö alkaline complex, central Sweden, are reported. READ MORE

4. Origin of Silicic Magmatism at the Katla Volcano, South Iceland
University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaperAbstract : Katla volcano, South Iceland, is a bimodal volcanic system hosting an unusual high number of silicic rocks within a basaltic rift setting. The petrogenesis of silica-rich rocks at Katla is controversial and two end-member hypotheses have been suggested. READ MORE

5. Investigation into Melting Characteristics of Hydrogen-Reduced Iron Ore Pellets
University essay from KTH/MaterialvetenskapAbstract : What kinetic and thermodynamic characteristics are established in a melt of hydrogen-reduced iron ore pellets? The pellets contain self-fluxing slag components which upon melting form an initial slag. Refining capabilities of this slag, such as dephosphorization power, are investigated in a lab-scale vertical furnace. READ MORE
