1. A C++ Matrix library for computing the Gateaux derivative of the Fermi-Dirac operator
University essay from Uppsala universitet/Avdelningen för beräkningsvetenskapAbstract : Computing the Fermi-Dirac operator is done through recursive polynomial expansions, using the SP2 and SP2 Acc algorithms. The Gateaux derivative is computed for both schemes by mapping the zeroth and first order matrices onto a block upper triangular matrix, which is implemented in Python using Numpy arrays to store full matrices and in C++ by first constructing a basic matrix library to use as blocks in a later created block upper triangular matrix library which only directly references two blocks in a 2 x 2 block matrix. 2. Supersymmetry in Quantum Mechanics
University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för materialvetenskapAbstract : The introduction of supersymmetry has led to great progress in the study of quantum field theories. Notably, with supersymmetry, properties of a quantum field theory can be computed with higher precision than what would otherwise be possible. In this project, we investigate supersymmetry in the context of quantum mechanics. READ MORE

3. THE COUPLING OF A DOUBLE QUANTUM DOT TO MICROWAVE PHOTONS
University essay from Lunds universitet/Matematisk fysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenAbstract : In this study, we derive a mathematical description of a double quantum dot (DQD) embedded in a microwave resonator starting from classical electrostatics. DQDs are a promising platform for building quantum computers and have important applications in quantum sensing and the study of light-matter interactions. READ MORE

4. Error propagation in nuclear models
University essay from Lunds universitet/Matematisk fysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenAbstract : In this thesis we perform error analysis of a nuclear model based on density-functional theory developed in Lund. The Lund model allows us to perform calculations of nuclear spectra more efficiently by constructing a simple effective Hamiltonian reproducing the quadrupole deformation and pairing interaction strength parameters of a spherical Hartree-Fock reference functional. 5. Quantum Transport in Topological Insulator Nanowires
University essay from KTH/FysikAbstract : Three-dimensional topological insulators are materials that have a bulk band gap like a traditional insulator, but which hold topologically protected conducting surface states. In this thesis we present a numerical analysis of the surface states of topological insulator nanowires in the tight-binding approximation. READ MORE
