  1. 1. The Origins and Ecology of Early Paleozoic Spreiten Ichnofossils: Comparisons of Daedalus and Syringomorpha with Alectorurus

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Author : Zane Goodell; [2023]
    Keywords : trace fossils; ichnology; Cambrian; Daedalus desglandi; Alectorurus circinatus; Syringomorpha nilssoni; the agronomic revolution;

    Abstract : The Cambrian explosion not only shaped the ecosystems of the Phanerozoic, but fundamentally changed how biota interacts with the environment, including the substrate. Cambrian trace fossils Alectorurus and Syringomorpha as well as Ordovician-Silurian Daedalus represent novel modes of faunal interaction with the newly innovated shallow marine mixed-ground and have surprisingly limited stratigraphic ranges. 2. 2. Sedimentary Factories and Ecosystem Change in the Triassic-Jurassic Boundary Interval : Insights from the Skåne Area (Southern Sweden)

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Paleobiologi

    Author : Gustav Nesset Mattsson; [2021]
    Keywords : CAMP; microbial structures; End-Triassic extinction event; sedimentary structures; MISS; Triassic-Jurassic boundary; CAMP; mikrobiella strukturer; Trias-jura-utdöendet; sedimentära strukturer; MISS; Trias- juragränsen;

    Abstract : The End-Triassic Extinction (ETE) has long remained one of the lesser known among the so-called “Big Five”. There exist several hypotheses regarding the probable cause of this extinction, which can mainly be divided into  events of  a decline in the rate of diversification  in the late Triassic contra a sudden and significant extinction event. 3. 3. First-arrival traveltime tomography of active-source data in the Kansanshi copper mine, northern Zambia

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Geofysik

    Author : Vessela Hobson; [2019]
    Keywords : refraction seismics; tomographic inversion; Zambian Copperbelt; copper;

    Abstract : Sedimentary rock-hosted deposits are a major source of copper and cobalt, with the Neoproterozoic central African Copperbelt being among the largest Cu-Co provinces in the world, accounting for around 15% of its copper resource. The deposits occur primarily in the carbonates and siliciclastic sediments overlying the basement, and formed during early diagenesis (around 820 Ma) and late diagenesis/metamorphism during the Pan-African Orogeny (580-520 Ma). 4. 4. TEM investigation on Challapampa aquifer, Oruro Bolivia

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Author : Måns Larsson; [2016]
    Keywords : kartering; survey geofysik; sedimentologi; geology; hydrogeology; geophysics; sedimentary; geologi; hydrogeologi; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : I denna studie utfördes en TEM (transient elektromagnetisk) undersökning på den Bolivianska altiplanon, norr om staden Oruro. I Oruro finns det ett underskott av dricksvatten och deras huvudsakliga vattenförsörjning kommer från aquiferen Challapampa. READ MORE

  5. 5. Modelling of the Normal Fault Pattern above a Basement Horst in the Lufeng Sag, China

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Author : Yu Niu; [2016]
    Keywords : Conjugate normal fault; analogue modelling; kinematic modelling; Lufeng Sag; MOVE software; Konjugerande förkastningspar; analog modellering; kinematisk modellering; Lufeng-sänkan; MOVE programvara;

    Abstract : The analogue models and the kinematic models based on the seismic data results were used to simulate the fault pattern which develops above a basement horst. The two major normal faults intersect with each other along the strike in the sedimentary covers. READ MORE
