  1. 6. Dopamine Waves Lead to a Swift and Adaptive Reinforcement Learning Algorithm

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Gergö Gömöri; [2021]
    Keywords : Reinforcement Learning; Dopamine; Basal Ganglia; Successor Representation; förstärkningsinlärning; dopamin; basala ganglierna; successionsrepresentation;

    Abstract : Accumulating evidence suggests that dopaminergic neurons show significant task-related diversity. Curiously, dopamine concentration and dopamine axon activity show spatio-temporal wave patterns in the dorsal striatum. READ MORE

  2. 7. Psychedelic oscillations : A systematic review of the electrophysiological correlates of classic psychedelics

    University essay from Högskolan i Skövde/Institutionen för biovetenskap

    Author : Shabo Annerud Awrohum; [2021]
    Keywords : Electrophysiological; psychedelic; signal diversity; spectral analysis; functional connectivity;

    Abstract : Background: Recently there has been a revitalization in research on classic psychedelic substances. This class of drugs has been found to produce intense and profoundly meaningful experiences, and offers a unique opportunity to study the neural correlates of the sense of self. READ MORE

  3. 8. Development of headspace solid phase microextraction gas chromatography mass spectrometry method for analysis of volatile organic compounds in board samples : Correlation study between chromatographic data and flavor properties

    University essay from Karlstads universitet/Institutionen för ingenjörs- och kemivetenskaper (from 2013)

    Author : Thea Zethelius; [2021]
    Keywords : Solid phase microextraction SPME ; method development; volatile organic compounds VOCs ; food contact material FCM ; flavor experience; design of experiment DoE ; multivariate analysis;

    Abstract : The purpose of this thesis work was to develop a headspace solid phase microextraction gas chromatography mass spectrometry (HS-SPME-GC-MS) method to detect volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in board samples and to statistically investigate potential correlation between chromatographic data and flavor data obtained from a trained panel. The developed method would hopefully serve as a complement to the already established routine analyses at Stora Enso and gain an increased understanding of which VOCs in the board influence its flavor properties. 4. 9. Childhood Habituation in Evolution of Augmenting Topologies (CHEAT)

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Beräkningsbiologi och biologisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation

    Author : Anton Moberg; [2020]
    Keywords : Neuroevolution; genetic algorithm; machine learning; ML; CHEAT; Childhood Habituation in Evolution of Augmenting Topologies; optimization; artificial neural network; self evolving; model selection; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : Neuroevolution is a field within machine learning that applies genetic algorithms to train artificial neural networks. Neuroevolution of Augmenting Topologies (NEAT) is a method that evolves both the topology of the network and trains the weights of the network at the same time, and has been found to successfully solve reinforcement learning problems efficiently and the XOR problem with a minimal topology. 5. 10. Correlation Transfer in Striatal Network via Morphology Changes

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Lihao Guo; [2020]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The activity of striatum is significantly modulated by dopamine, and long- term effects if an altered dopamine signalling can also lead to degeneration and regeneration of synapses. This thesis report investigates the signal transfer, especially correlation transfer, in the striatum. READ MORE
