  1. 11. Multiple-Emitter Super-resolution Imaging using the Alternating Descent Conditional Gradient Method

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Beräkningsbiologi och biologisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation; Lunds universitet/Institutionen för astronomi och teoretisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation

    Author : Dolev Illouz; [2023]
    Keywords : super-resolution; alternating descent conditional gradient method; ADCG; multiple-emitter localization; nanoscale imaging; single molecule tracking; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : This thesis examines the state-of-the-art 2D super-resolution technique alternating descent conditional gradient (ADCG) method's ability to accurately localize fluorophores in diffraction-limited single molecule images (SMI) and analyze the impact of pre-processing and post-processing modules on ADCG's fluorophore localization. A synthetic dataset obtained from the 2013 Grand Challenge localization microscopy and a temporally linked dataset obtained from an unpublished set of Optical DNA mapping experiments performed by Jonathan Jeffet at the NanoBioPhotonix Lab at Tel-Aviv University were initially segmented to extract their noise parameters. 2. 12. Design and Evaluation of Peptide Binders : In silico evaluation and comparison of generative AI for de novo peptide binder design

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Beräkningsbiologi och bioinformatik

    Author : Linde Brokmar; [2023]
    Keywords : Protein design; de novo design; protein engineering; generative ai; machine learning; peptide binders; AF2; EvoBind; RFdiffusion; ProteinMPNN;

    Abstract : Peptide binders are short proteins that bind to larger proteins. Due to peptide binders having high specificity and being cheap to synthesize, they are a prime candidate for drug design. Creating new proteins in silico can be divided into three steps: protein backbone generation, sequence design, and computational filtering. READ MORE

  3. 13. Rising Temperatures and the Damselfly Shrinkage

    University essay from Karlstads universitet/Fakulteten för hälsa, natur- och teknikvetenskap (from 2013)

    Author : Ernie Hacko Haglund; [2023]
    Keywords : Damselfly; Body; Size; Body Size; Temperature; Reproduction; Eggs; Egg; Egg Count; Flicksländor; Kropp; Storlek; Kroppsstorlek; Temperatur; Reproduktion; Ägg; Äggräkning; Antal Ägg;

    Abstract : Body size governs how temperature affects an organism. As temperature vary on different geographical scales, it mediates activity based on size. READ MORE

  4. 14. Archives For Black Trans Living, A Practice For Possibilities.

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Centrum för genusvetenskap

    Author : Levi Appleton; [2023]
    Keywords : affect; archives; because; Black feminism; capacious; care; embodiment; non-binary; praxis; trans.;

    Abstract : This thesis investigates possibilities for developing an archiving praxis to help Black trans people live. Inspired by recent Black trans thinking and creativity, the research here centres conversations with five Experts working in a range of academic, artistic, and activist archiving practices. 5. 15. PAMPaR: Parallel Analysis of miRNAs, Proteins and RNAs. Dynamic Profiles of miRNAs, mRNAs and Specific Proteins in Mouse Embryonic Stem Cells Differentiating into Neural Precursors

    University essay from KTH/Proteinvetenskap

    Author : Amelie Carlström; [2023]
    Keywords : PAMPaR; SPARC; Proximity extension assay; Neuronal differentiation; Mouse embryonic stem cells; PAMPaR; SPARC; Proximity extension assay; Neuronal differentiering; embryonala musstamceller;

    Abstract : MikroRNA-molekyler (miRNA) är viktiga icke-kodande RNA-molekyler för post-transkriptionell reglering av proteinkodande gener. De har även effekter på många cellulära processer såsom differentiering. De biosyntetiska reaktioner som skapar miRNA involverar proteiner som själva regleras av miRNA. READ MORE
