1. Organic Solar Cell Fabrication and Study on the Influence of Spin-dependent Processes on the Photocurrent using Spin-sensitive Techniques
University essay from Uppsala universitet/Fasta tillståndets fysikAbstract : Research in recent years on novel materials in organic solar cells (OSCs) have contributed to a rapid advancement in OSC efficiency. Here, OSCs with the well-studied organic semiconductors poly(3-hexylthiophene):[6,6]-phenyl C60-butyric acid methylester (P3HT:PCBM) in a bulk heterojunction structure were prepared to establish a baseline procedure for fabrication and spin-sensitive spectroscopy. 2. A unified view of a family of soliton equations related to spin Calogero-Moser systems
University essay from KTH/FysikAbstract : We study the interconnections between the spin Benjamin-Ono (sBO) and half-wave maps (HWM) equations, a pair of nonlinear partial integro-differential equations that have recently been found to permit multi-soliton solutions, where the time evolution of the constituent solitons can be described in terms of the well-known, completely integrable, spin Calogero-Moser (sCM) system. By considering a symmetry transformation of the sCM dynamics we are led to introduce a scale parameter into the sBO equation, yielding what we call the rescaled sBO (rsBO) equation, which has both the sBO and HWM equations as special cases. 3. Folding HP Proteins on a Quantum Annealer
University essay from Lunds universitet/Beräkningsbiologi och biologisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisationAbstract : Quantum annealing provides a promising avenue for obtaining good approximate solutions to difficult optimization problems. Protein folding represents one such problem. For testing novel algorithms and technologies, simplified lattice models are well suited, as they represent considerable computational challenges despite their simplicity. READ MORE

4. Using EEG in neurofeedbacktraining to decrease visual motionsensitivity and motion-sickness
University essay from KTH/Skolan för kemi, bioteknologi och hälsa (CBH)Abstract : Patients who suffer from motion-sickness, visual vertigo and other conditions relating to visual hypersensitivity will often feel dizzy when exposed to rapid visual motion or cluttered fields-of-view. Previous studies indicate that attentiveness to these stimuli influence the intensity of discomfort for these individuals, which suggests that mentally ignoring visual stimuli might help make them more tolerable. 5. Micromagnetic study of spin Hall nano-oscillator arrays and their synchronization dynamics
University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)Abstract : Spintronics is the study of electron spins and their utilization in electronic devices. Within this field, spin-based oscillators have shown promise for mi- crowave signal generation as they can operate at high frequencies, are small in scale and are compatible with modern fabrication techniques.
