  1. 1. A Conjugate Residual Solver with Kernel Fusion for massive MIMO Detection

    University essay from Högskolan i Halmstad/Centrum för forskning om tillämpade intelligenta system (CAISR)

    Author : Ioannis Broumas; [2023]
    Keywords : MIMO; massive MIMO; GPU; CUDA; Software Defined Radio; SDR; MMSE; ZF; zero-forcing; parallel detection; iterative methods; conjugate residual; parallel computing; kernel fusion;

    Abstract : This thesis presents a comparison of a GPU implementation of the Conjugate Residual method as a sequence of generic library kernels against implementations ofthe method with custom kernels to expose the performance gains of a keyoptimization strategy, kernel fusion, for memory-bound operations which is to makeefficient reuse of the processed data. For massive MIMO the iterative solver is to be employed at the linear detection stageto overcome the computational bottleneck of the matrix inversion required in theequalization process, which is 𝒪(𝑛3) for direct solvers. 2. 2. A real-time Multi-modal fusion model for visible and infrared images : A light-weight and real-time CNN-based fusion model for visible and infrared images in surveillance

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Jin Wanqi; [2023]
    Keywords : Image fusion; deep learning; surveillance; CNN; real time; Bildfusion; djupinlärning; övervakning; CNN; realtid;

    Abstract : Infrared images could highlight the semantic areas like pedestrians and be robust to luminance changes, while visible images provide abundant background details and good visual effects. Multi-modal image fusion for surveillance application aims to generate an informative fused images from two source images real-time, so as to facilitate surveillance observatory or object detection tasks. 3. 3. Are these numbers real?

    University essay from Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för data- och informationsteknik

    Author : Karl Griphammar; [2022-10-14]
    Keywords : Machine learning; data science; deep generative models; GAN; quality control; smart manufacturing; subspaces;

    Abstract : Smart manufacturing refers to the use of digitalization for improving and automating manufacturing processes. One use case is artificial intelligence (AI) used in quality control, which can reduce production costs and heavy labor. Training AI models requires large amounts of annotated data, which can be costly to obtain. READ MORE

  4. 4. Another Slice of Multivariate Dimension Reduction

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Tillämpad matematik; Linköpings universitet/Tekniska fakulteten

    Author : Carl Ekblad; [2022]
    Keywords : dimension reduction; reducing subspace; dimension reduction subspace; envelopes; dimensionsreducering; reducerande underrum; dimensionsreducerande underrum; kuvert;

    Abstract : This thesis presents some methods of multivariate dimension reduction, with emphasis on methods guided by the work of R.A. Fisher. Some of the methods presented can be traced back to the 20th century, while some are much more recent. READ MORE

  5. 5. A study of the s-step biconjugate gradient method

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Matematik (naturvetenskapliga fakulteten); Lunds universitet/Matematikcentrum

    Author : Carlotta Boi; [2022]
    Keywords : biconjugate gradient methods; s-step biconjugate gradient methods; nonsymmetric linear systems; sparse matrices.; Mathematics and Statistics;

    Abstract : In this thesis we will examine how to solve linear systems using the s-step biconjugate gradient algorithm, which is an iterative method based on the Krylov subspaces. It is useful especially when we have a large and sparse matrix. READ MORE
