  1. 6. Who’s in charge? Electro-responsive QCM Studies of Ionic Liquid as an Additive in Lubricant Oils

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för kemivetenskap (CHE)

    Author : Bergendal Erik; [2016]
    Keywords : Quartz crystal microbalance; QCM; EQCM; Ionic Liquid; Lubricant additive;

    Abstract : Electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance has been employed to investigate electro-responsiveness of an ionic liquid as an additive in lubricant oils on a gold surface. Polarisation of the surface reveals changes in frequency where an increase in magnitude amplified the observed response, corresponding to a controllable alternation of the ionic liquid configuration on the surface as a function of applied potential. 2. 7. Evaluation of Current and Feasible Future Use of Geothermal Energy at Chinyunyu Hot Spring, Zambia

    University essay from KTH/Kraft- och värmeteknologi

    Author : Christopher Kapasa; [2014]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The main source of geothermal energy is the heat flow from the mantle beneath the Earth’s surface, generated by the gradual decay of radioactive isotopes in the Earth‘s crust. A hot spring is produced by the emergence of geothermally heated groundwater flowing out to the Earth’s surface. READ MORE

  3. 8. Numerical simulations of the Cordilleran Ice Sheet (CIS) : Implementing a new module to the ice code ARCTIC-TARAH

    University essay from Institutionen för informationsteknologi

    Author : Asako Fujisaki; [2013]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Paleoglaciology is an area of research where numerical reconstruction is actively used to understand the process of ice sheet growth and decay throughout past glacial periods, and numerical simulation of ice dynamics is a tool to reproduce the behaviors of the ice sheet and shelf under given conditions. ARCTIC-TARAH, designed by the Bolin Centre for Climate Research for simulating ice sheet dynamics, is developed based on the Pennsylvania State University Ice sheet model (PSUI). READ MORE

  4. 9. Performance Assessment of Cerenkov Emission Imaging

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Sjukhusfysikerutbildningen; Lunds universitet/Medicinsk strålningsfysik, Lund

    Author : Emma Mellhammar; [2013]
    Keywords : Medicine and Health Sciences;

    Abstract : Laddade partiklar med hög energi kan ibland färdas snabbare än ljusets hastighet i det medium det för stunden befinner sig i. När detta sker, emitteras så kallat Cerenkovljus. Ljuset ligger inom det synliga spektret och kan alltså detekteras med vanlig kamerateknik. READ MORE
