  1. 21. Antarctic Subglacial Lakes as Environmental Analogues for Possible Hidden Biospheres on the Moons Europa and Enceladus

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Author : Jonas Fahlman; [2023]
    Keywords : astrobiology; icy moons; subglacial lakes; ice dynamics; thermal regimes; extremophiles; anthropogenic contamination; astrobiologi; ismånar; subglaciala sjöar; is-dynamik; termiska regimer; extremofiler; antropologisk kontaminering;

    Abstract : The evolving science of astrobiology for the search for life beyond Earth has put focus on the possibility of subsurface bodies of liquid water beneath the surface of icy moons within our Solar System. Specifically, the Jovian moon of Europa and the Saturnian moon of Enceladus show telling characteristics of endogenous heating through their complex tidal resonances with their parent planets – suggesting the presence of oceans of liquid water and therefore a potential for astrobiology. 2. 22. Design and Construction of an Autonomous Sentry Turret Utilising Computer Vision

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Author : Carl Bermhed; Jacob Holst; [2023]
    Keywords : Mechatronics; Arduino; Computer Vision; Stepper Motor; Airsoft; Haar Cascade; Mekatronik; Arduino; Datorseende; Stegmotor; Airsoft; Haar Cascade;

    Abstract : The design and manufacture of a sentry gun turret capable of accurately and rapidly tracking and shooting moving targets was a challenging task that required delving into various engineering disciplines. This bachelor's thesis explores this challenge by presenting the process of construction, as well as the performance results of a turret created using a combination of 3D printing, laser cutting, and metal workshop manufacturing. 3. 23. Characterization of Antigenic Properties of Two Immunogenic Proteins of Streptococcus pneumoniae

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för medicinsk biokemi och mikrobiologi

    Author : Mawj Jasimalsalih; [2023]
    Keywords : Immunogenic Proteins; PrsA; MalX; Membrane Vesicles; Protein Properties; Streptococcus pneumoniae virulence factors;

    Abstract : The bacterium Streptococcus pneumoniae (pneumococcus), is considered to be a leading cause of morbidity and mortality globally, particularly in infants and the elderly. It is one of the most frequent causes of respiratory tract infections, which sporadically have the potential to develop into serious invasive symptoms including sepsis and meningitis. READ MORE

  4. 24. Finding the QRS Complex in a Sampled ECG Signal Using AI Methods

    University essay from KTH/Fysik

    Author : Jeanette Marie Victoria Skeppland Hole; [2023]
    Keywords : ECG; ECG-analysis; QRS detector; Artificial Intelligence; Machine Learning; Deep neural networks; Long short-term memory; Convolutional neural network; Multilayer perceptron; EKG; EKG-analys; QRS detektor; Artificiell intelligens; Maskininlärning; Djupa neurala nätverk; Long short-term memory; Convolutional neural network; Multilayer perceptron;

    Abstract : This study aimed to explore the application of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) techniques in implementing a QRS detector forambulatory electrocardiography (ECG) monitoring devices. Three ML models, namely long short-term memory (LSTM), convolutional neural network (CNN), and multilayer perceptron (MLP), were compared and evaluated using the MIT-BIH arrhythmia database (MITDB) and the MIT-BIH noise stress test database (NSTDB).
