  1. 1. Turbofan Engine Modeling - For The Fighter Aircraft of The Future

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Mekanisk värmeteori och strömningslära

    Author : Aria Tahmasebi; [2022]
    Keywords : Turbofan; Engine; Turbofan engine; Gas turbine; Engine model; Engine modeling; Simulink; Simulink engine; Fighter aircraft; SAAB; Engine performance; Engine optimization;

    Abstract : The demand for turbofan engine performance development is high in the military industry. However, to develop the engine, it is necessary to predict its performance, and engine testing is both time-consuming and costly. Therefore, simulation is an effective approach to predicting the engine’s performance. READ MORE

  2. 2. Geometrical Improvement of Fuel Nozzle Locations in the SGT-750 Gas Turbine : An investigation into fuel-air mixing in main channels 1 & 2

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Mekanisk värmeteori och strömningslära

    Author : Aryan Delir; [2022]
    Keywords : gas turbine engines; turbofan; combustion; SGT-750; flashback; hydrogen; natural gas; premixing; fuel-air mixing; computational fluid dynamics; CFD; turbulence modelling; NOx emission; lean premixed mixture;

    Abstract : This study was conducted on SGT-750, which utilizes can type fourth generation DLE burner, developed at Siemens Energy AB, in Finspång, Sweden. The aim of this study is to obtain a flat fuel profile at the outlet of main channel 1 and main channel 2, demonstrating a proper mixing of fuel and air in the main channels leading to reducing local high-temperature points, and thus, reducing thermal NOx emissions. 3. 3. First Principle Parameter-Based Performance Model for Commercial Turbofan Aircraft

    University essay from KTH/Lättkonstruktioner, marina system, flyg- och rymdteknik, rörelsemekanik

    Author : Jacob Wrase; [2022]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Climate change and greenhouse gas emissions are arguably some of the most pressing threats that today's society has to face. Emissions from the transport sector, including air traffic, play an important role in the pursuit of reducing climate impact. READ MORE

  4. 4. Development and Use of System Modeler 6DOF Flight Mechanics Model in Aircraft Conceptual Design

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Fluida och mekatroniska system

    Author : Niko Erä-Esko; [2022]
    Keywords : Aircraft Conceptual Design; Flight Mechanics; Modelling and Simulation;

    Abstract : This thesis presents a tool for conceptual design of a traditional configuration aircraft by using a parametric six degrees of freedom (6DOF) flight mechanics model implemented in the Modelica Language using Wolfram System Modeler. Being first only able to model and simulate the uncontrolled flight of an aircraft with fixed mass and centre of gravity (CG), and requiring detailed aerodynamic parameters as an input, the 6DOF model is improved by developing new features to reduce the number of required inputs while also increasing the data output of the simulations. 5. 5. Numerical evaluation of the ground vortex

    University essay from KTH/Teknisk mekanik

    Author : Martin Babo; [2022]
    Keywords : Turbofan engine; CFD; Flow simulation; Ground Vortex; External aerodynamics;

    Abstract : This master thesis covers the realization of a CFD calibration study regarding the numerical simulation of the ground vortex phenomenon. As part of InVIGO project (EU CleanSky2), wind tunnel test campaigns were performed using a nacelle model combined with a movable raised floor. READ MORE
