  1. 11. Estimation of satellite orbits using ground based radar concept

    University essay from Umeå universitet/Institutionen för fysik

    Author : Jonas Gabrielsson; [2021]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Today an abundance of objects are circulating in earth captured orbit. Monitoring these objects is of national security interest. One way to map any object in orbit is with their Keplerian elements. A method for estimating the Keplerian elements of a satellite orbit simulating a ground based radar station has been investigated. 2. 12. A Numerical Approach for Wind Tunnel Noise Control

    University essay from KTH/Marcus Wallenberg Laboratoriet MWL

    Author : Hampus Dall; Robert Palm; [2021]
    Keywords : Technical Acoustics; ANC; Active Noise Control; Superposition; Wind Tunnel; Wingsuit; Indoor Wingsuit; Higher Order Modal Acoustic Field Beyond Plane Wave Region; Numerical Acoustic Simulations; Teknisk Akustik; Aktiv Brusreducering; Superposition; Vindtunnel; Flygning med ekorrdräkt inomhus; Högre ordningens akustisk modanalys bortom planvågsteori; Numeriska akustiska simuleringar;

    Abstract : A wind tunnel from the 1950s located in Bromma, Stockholm, once used for military research is today used for commercial activities. Today the tunnel is used for indoor wingsuit flight and the facility has an interest in reducing the overall noise generated by the tunnel. Acoustic measurements indicate noise problems in the 50 Hz range. READ MORE

  3. 13. Primordial Gravitational Waves and ultra-light Dark Matter in a complex singlet extended Standard Model

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysik; Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisation

    Author : Sara Wildenor; [2021]
    Keywords : theoretical physics; gravitational waves; dark matter; complex singlet extended standard model; LISA; BBO; DECIGO; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : In this thesis, the consequences of extending the internal symmetries of the standard model with a complex singlet scalar field, are investigated in terms of dark matter phenomenology and the possibility of primordial gravitational wave detection utilizing space based laser interferometry. The scalar potential of the model is constructed with a Z2 symmetry, which allows for the retainment of a linear and a quadratic coupling parameter, as well as a stable dark matter candidate, and an additional non-zero vacuum expectation value for the real component of the scalar field. 4. 14. Device Resonance Response in a Wave Energy Converter : Investigation of Surge Resonance in a Heaving Point Absorber

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Elektricitetslära

    Author : Lykke Östbom; [2021]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Wave power possesses vast potential to become a considerable energy contributor. The main challenge for wave power to become competitive on the energy market is to minimize the delivered energy cost simultaneously as designing a wave energy converter (WEC) strong enough to survive extreme sea conditions. 5. 15. Factors impacting dairy cows milk production during hot summers : investigating the impact of the heat wave 2018on 30 Swedish dairy farms

    University essay from SLU/Dept. of Clinical Sciences

    Author : Amanda Jacobsson; [2021]
    Keywords : dairy cow; milk production; heat stress; interviews; housing and systems; management; preventive measures;

    Abstract : Heat stress in a dairy cow is defined by an increased body temperature leading to decreased welfare and productivity. The increasing number of high producing dairy cows with high vulnerability to heat, in combination with the predicted increase in temperature across the world leads to an urgent need for practical methods to reduce heat stress within the dairy industry.
