  1. 1. A C++ Matrix library for computing the Gateaux derivative of the Fermi-Dirac operator

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Avdelningen för beräkningsvetenskap

    Author : William Samuelsson; [2023]
    Keywords : C ; Quantum Chemistry; Matrix functions;

    Abstract : Computing the Fermi-Dirac operator is done through recursive polynomial expansions, using the SP2 and SP2 Acc algorithms. The Gateaux derivative is computed for both schemes by mapping the zeroth and first order matrices onto a block upper triangular matrix, which is implemented in Python using Numpy arrays to store full matrices and in C++ by first constructing a basic matrix library to use as blocks in a later created block upper triangular matrix library which only directly references two blocks in a 2 x 2 block matrix. 2. 2. Generating Perturbative Solutions for Slowly Rotating Perfect Fluids Using the Hartle Scheme

    University essay from Umeå universitet/Institutionen för fysik

    Author : Elin Johansson; [2023]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : In this thesis, we study slowly rotating relativistic stars by modeling them as perfect fluids. The Hartle formalism is used to perturb a spherically symmetric static solution into slow rotation and the corresponding field equations to second order are presented. READ MORE

  3. 3. On the superconducting critical temperature in Eliashberg theory

    University essay from KTH/Fysik

    Author : Max Oliveberg; [2021]
    Keywords : Eliashberg; Superconductivity; Mathematical Physics; Eliashberg; Supraledning; Matematisk Fysik;

    Abstract : This thesis presents a brief synopsis of the derivations of the BCS and Eliashberg equations. An analytic formula for the critical temperature $T_c$ in Eliashberg theory is derived, which contains a sum of iterative integral corrections. READ MORE

  4. 4. Evaluation of the wavefronts and spatial structures of ultrashort pulses passing through a micro-channel plate

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Atomfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Author : Simon Ek; [2019]
    Keywords : high-order harmonic generation; HHG; micro-channel plate; MCP; attophysics; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : The first aim of this project is to make high-order harmonic (HHG) setups more compact and user-friendly, by including a micro-channel plate (MCP). Simulations of the transmission properties of an MCP has been performed. These simulations displayed introduced structure in the far field, but a very well behaved beam in the near field. READ MORE

  5. 5. Browsing the Web of Amplitudes

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Teoretisk fysik

    Author : Alexander Söderberg; [2016]
    Keywords : amplitude; amplitudes; relation; relations; browsing; web; bcj; kk; double; copy; zeroth; klt; single; valued; projection; quantum; field; theory; qft; string; type; I; II; heterotic;

    Abstract : We begin by studying field-theory amplitude relations such as the Kleiss-Kuijf, Bern-Carrasco-Johansson, Kawai-Lewellen-Tye and the double copy construction, which are important ingredients in this thesis. Going beyond the field-theory limit we study how the gauge-sector of the heterotic string relates to type I amplitudes through the single valued projection of multiple zeta values. READ MORE
