Analyzing and implementation of an userfriendly global advertisement engine

University essay from Lunds universitet/Högskoleingenjörsutbildning i datateknik

Abstract: Adengi, a system for bridging information between consumer and advertiser exists today as a beta-test. This will be taken to the next level to see how to exchange information on a much more efficient and measurable way. The purpose of the project is to analyze if it’s possible to develop a generic web- portal for applications in mobile units such as Android and iPhone, that in an easy and userfriendly way can handle and edit advertisements. You should be able to configure and adapt advertisement-applications from a web- portal to avoid expensive hours of development. The goal is to have a functional prototype of a userfriendly web-interface where you can change the advertisement-applications looks, icons, text and to some extent functionality. Since the portal will aim it self at restaurants, shops and other traders, it shall be easy to use the interface to update information like for example opening hours, offers, positions and descriptions. The portal will work in the following browsers: Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) 7.0 and later (for Windows) Firefox 3.6 and later (for Windows, Mac and Linux) Safari 3.1 and later (for Mac and Windows) Google Chrome (for Windows and Mac) and will communicate with a database using either Apache Cassandra, Neo4j or mongoDB. Therefore languages like Java, C++, HTML, PHP, JavaScript, JSON, CSS, XML and SQL will be used.
