Abstract: Figures show that FDI is now the major force behind economic globalization. With this phenomenon we will look onto Tajikistan, situated in the interesting geostrategic area of Central Asia. Firstly we explain FDI, how it is attracted and what effects it has on the host country. Then we observe which efforts that have been made to attract FDI, how the situation of FDI in Tajikistan by explaining the development, patterns and effects of FDI.
