The Unified System Usability Technology Acceptance Model (USUTAM) : A users’ acceptance and perceived usability evaluation model for information systems

University essay from Mittuniversitetet/Institutionen för data- och systemvetenskap

Abstract: In this study, the stable and valid basis of two established theories, the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) and System Usability Scale (SUS), was used to form a new evaluation model named the USUTAM. This model can be used to evaluate both the perceived usability and the users’ acceptance of an information system. The first version of USUTAM was tested using interviews and then modified to USUTAM version 2. The second version of USUTAM has been reviewed by respondents to clear up any misunderstandings. After that, the USUTAM was generalized using the UTAUT and SUS. This generalization makes USUTAM suitable for multiple types of information systems in different types of organizations.
