Investigating the Use of Microfluidics in X-ray Spectroscopy at MAX IV Laboratory
Abstract: The purpose of this project was to investigate the use of microfluidics for X-ray spectroscopy at MAX IV Laboratory. A Silicon and Glass chip was produced, and its suitability for carrying samples in solution was tested. Once the chip was prepared, and successfully integrated onto Balder beamline, X-ray analysis was carried out on a sample of FeCl3 (aq) flowing through the chip. This was contrasted with X-ray data taken from testing a cyclic olefin copolymer chip produced separately. The chips and their compatibility for experiments of this kind were contrasted and compared.
