Songs as a teaching tool for developing oral skills in EFL classrooms

University essay from Malmö universitet/Lärande och samhälle

Abstract: My experience from the teaching practice is that it is hard to get students to speak during the lessons. It is often caused by the fact that they are afraid that their abilities in English are not enough. It is also hard to make the students interested in the lessons. This research synthesis aims to answer the question of what are the advantages of using songs as a teaching tool for developing oral production skills in EFL classrooms. The results show that using music activities can contribute to students paying more attention and being more involved in the lessons. Also, it can help develop vocabulary and pronunciation.
