Designing a User Interface Based on a Simulator

Abstract: A mobile application's user interface is one of the most basic things users expect to work well in a mobile application. Still, many applications today struggle with creating a good and user friendly user interface. In this project a system simulator was developed as part of a future application, and the mobile user interface of that application was prototyped. An evaluation of the designed prototypes was carried out which resulted in a few guidelines to creating a "good" user interface. Also, the possibility of developing a simulator for a research instrument without any background knowledge or expertise in the area was discussed and investigated.
